Jaden travelled through Mt. Mortar and arrived at Mahogany Town. He went to the Pokemon Centre to rest.
After resting, Jaden headed to the gym. As he walked there he heard people talking, but he couldn't what about.
He arrived at the gym and like the first time visiting Olivine City, the gym was closed.
He spoke to the person at the entrance and said the gym leader is out on business and wasn't sure when he would be back.
Jaden left in disappointment.
Jaden: Oh man. What do we do now?
He decided to ask the people he saw earlier about their conversation.
Jaden: Excuse me? What is it you were discussing before?
Man #1: Oh. There's talk about a mysterious Pokemon in the Lake of Rage.
Jaden: Lake of Rage?
Man #2: Yeah. I heard it's a Gyarados.
Jaden: Where is the Lake of Rage?
Man #1: Just through route 43.
Jaden: Okay. Thanks.
Jaden had his new destination for now.
Jaden and Arcanine quickly made their way through route 43 and arrived at the Lake of Rage.
Jaden: Okay. Go Feraligatr. Can you give us a ride across the lake?
Feraligatr jumped into the lake and Jaden and Arcanine rode on its back.
They found a little island which they stopped at.
Jaden and Arcanine got off Feraligatr's back.
Jaden: Okay Feraligatr. Thanks. Return for now.
Then he heard the water move as if something was underneath, watching them.
Jaden: What's that? There's something in the water. Keep your guard, Arcanine.
Arcanine stood ready.
Then suddenly, something appeared from the lake.
Jaden: What's that? It's a Gyarados, and it's red.
Then it used Hydro Pump.
Jaden: Look out!
Jaden and Arcanine dodged the attack.
Jaden: Go Dragonair! Use Shock Wave! And Arcanine, use Psychic Fangs!
Dragonair fired a quick jolt of electricity and landed a super-effective hit on Gyarados and Arcanine landed a hit with its fangs of psychic energy. Gyarados then dove back into the water.
Jaden: Where did it go?
They were looking frantically for Gyarados, then it appeared behind them.
Gyarados used Hyper Beam.
???: Use Dragon Rush!
Jaden: What? Who said that?
Something came from the sky and attacked Gyarados.
Jaden: What happened?
The mysterious Pokemon landed on the small island and the person revealed themselves.
Jaden: Is that... Lance?
Lance: Good to see you again. I see you're having trouble.
Jaden: A little.
Lance: How about a team-up.
Jaden: Sure. Dragonair, return. You ready, Arcanine?
Arcanine nodded in response.
Gyarados appeared again and used Hydro Pump.
Jaden: Dodge it!
Arcanine dodged the attack.
Lance: Dragonite, use Thunder Punch!
Dragonite flew up and punched Gyarados with a fist of electricity. Gyarados took a super-effective hit. But it struck back using Dragon Tail!
Dragonite took a super-effective hit and crash-landed on the ground.
Lance: No Dragonite!
Then Gyarados prepared to fire Hyper Beam.
Jaden: Arcanine, use Flare Blitz!
Arcanine cloaked itself in fire and headed straight for Gyarados. Gyarados fired Hyper Beam.
Arcanine collided with the attack and there was a big explosion.
Jaden: Arcanine!
Arcanine landed on the ground, badly injured.
Jaden: Arcanine, are you okay?
Lance: Where's Gyarados?
Then he saw it in the distance, also inured from the explosion. He got on Dragonite's back.
Lance: Fly up.
Dragonite flew up and was above Gyarados.
Lance: Go pokeball!
Lance threw a pokeball at Gyarados and it went inside.
The pokeball tilted, and tilted, and tilted. Then it stopped. Lance caught the red Gyarados. Then he flew back down to the small island.
Lance: How is he?
Jaden: He doesn't look too good. We need to get him to the Pokemon Centre.
Lance: Agreed. Dragonite, will you be able to carry Arcanine while flying?
Dragonite nodded its head.
Lance: Good.
Dragonite picked up Arcanine and flew back to Mahogany Town with Lance and Jaden on its back.

They arrived back and landed in front of the Pokemon Centre.
Lance: Nurse Joy. We have an emergency.
Nurse Joy: Understood. Come on, Blissey. There's no time to waste.
Arcanine was placed on a patient trolley and rushed into the emergency room.
