I open the door and it's a staff with takeout. So food is what ruined our kiss 😑.
Wth.
The boy holding the food bag looks terrified for some reason. I haven't done anything, yet. Before I could say anything he quickly pushes the bags in my hands and runs away. I sigh.
I lock the door and I walk back to Aria and she laughs.
" Why are you laughing love ?"
" The horror on the poor boy's face. Your bad guy... scaring people off."
" I literally said nothing. Nothing."
" The way you looked at him said everything." She emphasized.
" Whatever." I shrugged.
I sat down beside her and placed the bags on the table. I started opening one packet and passed one to her.
" Help me." I said.
" Ezekiel what on earth did you order ? There are so many bags."
" I ordered whatever I thought was nice. "
It really wasn't much. I wasn't sure of what she would like the best so I ordered whatever I thought was nice. It was just some noodles and rice and chicken in 3 different ways and some dumplings cause I don't anyone could hate dumplings and and a few other things.
She shakes her head.
" Your one crackhead. It's just the two of us, noodles or maybe something else with that would have been enough."
" That is why you are so skinny."
" Excuse me." She looks at me annoyed.
" You barely eat. And the most you eat is tea and ramen."
" Tea is my daily tonic ok. I can't survive without it. "
" I don't know but I'll make you eat lots know and make you nice and healthy."
"As I'll listen to yo...." I didn't let her finish by putting a dumpling in her mouth.
" I'll kill you." She says after swallowing it.
I don't let her complain further and I feed her till my heart's content. Once we're done eating I call someone to help us clean it up.
The moment it's done I lie down on her lap. I can't describe the amount of peace I feel whenever I do this. She slowly runs her fingers through my hair. And my eyelids shut and I relax.
" Why don't you take a few days off and relax. " She says.
" Who'll look after everything ?"
" You can do that from home or Felix or Raymond. Any of your friends." She shrugs.
" I can't love. I'll have to be there."
" But I don't like seeing you so stressed and tired." My chest tightens with the emotions that stir in me with just a simple thing she said. It's normal for others but not for me to hear words of endearment so often.
Aria came into my life without warning and I'm glad she did. It's the best thing that ever happened to me. Although I had never imagined myself ever being in love with any girl but she's not any girl after.
She's my girl.
" Ezekiel ? Are you even listening ? " She says and I'm dragged out of my thoughts.
" Yeah. I don't know if it's possible but I swear I'll try. "
" Hmmmm"
I take her hand a place a kiss on it and she rests it on my cheek. The warmth of her touch makes me feel so comfortable.
" Oh btw I need to go home remeber ?"
"Home ? Why ?" I don't want her to go anywhere. I just want her to be with me always.
" To collect all those docs and files. God I don't even know how many are there it will take time though."
" You have to go ? We can send someone else. " I tell her.
" No ! It's important stuff I can't let anyone near it."
" Love it's just a bunch of papers."
" Bryant wouldn't ask me about it if it were only a bunch of papers." She emphasizes every word she says. Shit Bryant of course. How can I forget. He's the reason she's taking extra precaution. And for some strange reason we haven't found much about him yet. Except that he has a son named Flint. That piece of shit.
And he had a wife, Lisa and she's dead. She passed away recently. For some strange reason I thought of her to be my mum's friend Lisa but she was Joseph's wife and God knows wth these people are.
Aria talks about not taking stress but I have so many freaking stressors. I'm just waiting for the day I get my hands on them.
" Ok then but Johnson will drive you there and he'll bring you back"
" Okay."
"But go later. Stay with me for sometime."
She just giggles and continues to massage my hair.
I did allow her but I don't feel good about it. It's like my gut telling me that something wrong is gonna happen. That is why I'm sending Johnson with her.
An hour later.....
" Don't worry I'll be back quickly." She says picking up her bag.
" And I'll be back safely." I correct.
" Obviously I will. Remember I told you not to stress. "
" Yeah yeah. You need to be with me always so that I don't stress."
" Whiney baby." She laughs.
" I'm not a baby. " Ok I actually did whine here.
" Yes you are baby. "
" Nope I'm your daddy." My sentence takes her aback as she blushes a deep shade of pink.
" Your not going to say anything now love ?" I tease her.
" You just wait until I get back." She threatens.
" Sounds exciting."
" That's it I'm going now." Before she can walk towards the door I pull her to my chest.
" No goodbye kiss ?" I ask cupping one of her cheeks.
She looks up at me with those big eyes.
She fondly kisses my cheek.
" Not there...here." I say pointing at my lips.
Someone knocks.
" Come in." She says.
" We can go now miss. " Johnson says.
Wtf.
Why is everyone ruining my kiss today. She's been here for so long and not one kiss.
" Byeeee." She gets out of my hold and walks out after placing a quick peck on my lips.
" I will get my full and proper kiss once your back !" I yell.
She's gone. And she takes away the warth with her. My office looking dull and gloomy again.
Yeah I know it's freaking fancy and expensive but it's too lonely. I stretch
I go to the washroom, wash my face. I wear my glasses back.
And I get back to work.
