chapter 35- deeper on a new level

"Shes the size of a papaya"
Placing her hands onto her bump, her much bigger bump now, her fingers ran across her smooth shirt and onto her stomach. When he heard her speak from the opposite side of the bed, he rolled over, coming to place his hand where hers were, a instant kick pushing againts his palm. She had been moving so much recently, since that first kick 3 weeks ago, she had definitely taken her mothers dancing Gene's and couldnt stop jiving. It was a healthy sign and they had spent the last 3 weeks buying all they needed. They hadn't finished yet but they were getting there. They had all the basics and were so much more set up now but being 25 weeks and soon entering the third and final trimester in just 3 weeks time, things would need to be complete soon.

"That seems so big. What happened to our little raspberry?"
He spoke softly feeling her movements from the other side of diannes skin.

"I know it's gone so quick. But she will always be our little raspberry. It's just going to stick that name"
Raspberry was something they had kept since week 13 when she was the size of an actual raspberry. That seemed so long ago now. It was back when they first announced to the world that they were having a baby. Since then they had gone through so much but they had come out the other end and this was definitely the happiest they had ever been. They had gone a whole month without arguing now and hoped to continue that streak. It would be hard but they had proved to themselves they could do it.

"I think she likes being called raspberry too, she kicks so much when you say it"
She said noticing her kicks got stronger at the mention of the fruit.

"Maybe it's just my magic charm"

"No genuinely she loves being called raspberry. She can hear us you know and she recognises our voices and maybe the sound of raspberry just gets her excited"
It was a cute little name. Something they definitely wouldnt snap out of calling her once she was here.

"She cant be called raspberry forever though, we have to name her properly. She cant be known as raspberry sugg. She needs a name"
Joe shrugged as he began to think. Names weren't something they had really spoken about. Of course it was hard to completely ignore but being 25 weeks along and not even having created some sort of list was concerning if they knew she was going to go into an early labour and their baby would be premature. They didn't have as long as they thought to prepare.

"What names do you like? And please dont say americas"
He joked remembering the time they named their sims child Americas but also knowing that he knew dianne genuinely did like the name for a baby and not just an animated character.

"Hey, I really do like that name. I think it's cute and its unique. I sont know anybody else called Americas"
It was true. It was a unique name and she did really like it but where ever she got it from it was just odd. It didn't make sense to call a child or even a pet.

"Maybe because most people understand that it's not a name. You've just made it up I think. I definitely think it needs to be unique but not Americas. And it needs to have meaning, something that makes sense to us"
He told her.

"Something italian..."

"It can be. Do you maybe want to google some italian names?"
He passed her phone from where it was charging and let her type until she found a list of italian names. It was definitely something she wanted to include. Her pop was from Italy, and even though she was known for being Australian, she loved the Italian traditions in her family and and saw how the gene ran through into all the different generations. Her family were so important to her and to include them in her babys life was going to be special. She already had plans for her daughter to get christened in the church she had been and in the church both her brothers, parents and grandparents all got married in. With them living so far away it was going to be hard to include them in every day life so to make sure they were incorporated into the name was definitely into her priority list, especially as the baby wouldn't carry the buswell name.
