Chapter 10

Kairos Sullivan (Point of View)

I slowly open my eyes, feeling disoriented and groggy. My surroundings seem unfamiliar, and it takes a moment for me to realize that I'm laying in my own bed. It takes a few moments for my eyes to adjust to the dim light in the room. Iginala ko ang mata ko sa loob ng kuwarto ko at pagkalingon ko sa tabi ko nakita ko si Destin, natutulog sa isang maliit na couch malapit sa kama ko.

As I tried to sit up, a wave of dizziness washes over me. My limbs feel heavy, sumasakit din ang mga sugat sa balikat ko. Nang bumalik na ang lakas ko agad akong tumayo at lumapit sa pwesto ni Destin. I kneel beside the couch so I could watch his face. I remove the strands of hair that were covering his face and smiled softly when he jolted a bit because of my touch.

I gently traced his face with my fingers, from his eyebrows to his long eyelashes, to his perfect nose, to his soft cheeks, and down to his glossy and plumpy pink lips. God, he's beautiful.

I am not the type of person that is very expressive in terms of his feelings because I was taught to conceal my emotions in any circumstances but what I feel towards destin is not something I can ignore or conceal. I had past relationships but none of them made me lose control...none, but him.

I'm scared because I know this is the exact feeling that everyone keeps on talking about. This is what makes them crazy. This is what makes them feel intense pain. But aside from that, this is also the one that makes them feel so alive and happy. I wanna experience that...I want to feel alive and happy.

Not that I am not happy with my life right now, but you know, it still feels like something is missing.

I was lost while watching him sleep that I didn't realize that he is already awake and staring at me. I move away a little. I don't want to make him feel uncomfortable.

"Sorry, did I wake you up?" I ask in a very soft tone. I didn't know that I am capable of becoming soft like this. Only Destin can do that.

He smiled softly at me. Umiling siya at umayos nga upo. "Ayos kana ba?" Tanong niya sabay sipat sa noo at leeg ko. I can feel a rush of blood coming up to my face and ears. Damn, kahit inosenteng haplos niya lang napapakilig na ako.

"Mabuti naman at bumaba na lagnat mo," he gladly said.

I smiled softly. "Yeah, I have a good nurse."

Destin blushed and looked away. "Tse! Anong oras na pala?" I look at the big clock behind him.

"4:32 AM. It's still early, you should get some more sleep. Doon kana sa kama," sabi ko na nagpalingon sakaniya.

"A-anong sa kama!? Di pa ako ready, kairos!" He panicked cutely. This silly guy. Ano na iniisip niyang gagawin ko?

"Don't worry, hindi kita gagapangin and I won't lay beside you. Doon na muna ako sa veranda magkakape." Maluwag siyang napahinga at tumango.

"Sige, sabi mo 'yan ah. Inaantok pa kasi ako, eh. Gusto mo pagtimpla kita ng kape muna?" That's so thoughtful of him, but I won't let him get tired. Kaya ko naman.

Umiling ako at hinila na siya papuntang kama. "I can manage. Just sleep here. What do you wanna eat for breakfast?"

Humikab si Destin at dahan dahang humiga sa kama ko. "Bango naman..." rinig kong bulong niya kaya napangiti ako. "Huwag na, mamaya na. Huwag kang magluto, ako ang magluluto, kairos. Baka mabinat kapa, eh."

"Okay, if you say so."

I smiled when I cuddled one of my pillows and he keeps on sniffing it. I took my phone to the table beside my bed and then I went to the kitchen to make a coffee. Pagkatapos ay pumunta na ako sa veranda at umupo doon. I sipped on my coffee when suddenly my phone started ringing.
