Chapter 14

Destin Hart (Point of View)

Rinig ko ang pagbusina ng sasakyan sa labas at agad kong nakita si mama at papa na pababa ng hagdan. They are smiling at each other while holding hands. Para silang teenager na first-time magdi-date. Nasa sala ako ngayon at nag-aantay kay Kairos. Agad na lumapit si mama at papa sa'kin, mama kissed my head at ganon din ang ginawa ni papa.

"Alis muna kami 'nak, ha..." malambing na usad ni mama, tumango at ngumiti ako.

"Sige, ma, pa...ingat kayo, ha."

Tumango silang dalawa at ngumiti bago nagpasiyang umalis. I hope they'll have a great night.

Nabaling ang atensiyon ko sa phone ko ng may nag message. It's Kairos.

Kairos:

I'm on my way, baby.

Hindi ko mapigilang ngumiti. Kairos never really changed.

Ako:

Okayyy! I'm waiting! Don't reply na nagd-drive ka.

At sinunod naman niya, he didn't reply so I waited for how many minutes again at maya maya may bumusina na sa labas. Agad akong tumayo at lumabas para puntahan siya. Nakita ko siyang lumabas ng sasakyan na may bitbit na bouquet, nakangiting naglakad papunta sa'kin Kairos. He looks dashing in his black suit and pink necktie, para siyang prince charming.

"Hey, baby. Flowers for you..." bungad niya sabay bigay ng bulaklak sa'kin tapos kinuha niya ang kamay ko 'tsaka hinalikan.

I blushed and smiled softly. "Thank you, fiancé."

Kairos watches me as I sniffed the flowers and giggle. Sobrang lambot ng mukha at mga mata niya habang tinititigan ako.

"What?" Tanong ko.

He shook his head softly. "Nothing..."

"Then, why are you staring at me with those eyes?"

"Because you're beautiful, Destin Hart. And I am beyond lucky to have you," he softly said.

I jokingly rolled my eyes at him. "You and your words! Tara na nga! Bago pa 'ko mangisay sa kilig dito..."

Kairos laugh heartily and closed the distance between them. He hugged me and kiss the top of my head.

"I love you, Destin Hart."

I hugged him back tightly and a tear escaped my eyes, I immediately wiped it and smile at Kairos.

"And I love you, Kairos Sullivan..."

We stared at each other for a moment. I want this moment to not end. I want us to be together forever. I want to wake up beside Kairos every day. I want to build a family with him. I want...I want to live a little longer.

God, Is that too much to ask?

"You okay?" He asked, worried.

I nod my head and buried my face in his neck. I felt Kairos' hand caress my head gently while planting soft kisses.

"Let's go?" I nod and let go of him.

Kairos open the door for me and placed his hand on my head to avoid me from bumping. When I'm already inside I smile at him before he closed the door. Umikot siya sa kabilang side at sumakay na sa driver's seat. Kairos buckled his seatbelt before turning to me and helping me out with mine.

"Baby's safety is the top priority," he said and winked at me jokingly. Hindi ko mapigilang tumawa. Kairos stared at me while smiling then he give me a peck on the lips before sitting properly.
