Chapter 4

I slowly began to regain function as I woke up, I slowly felt my body regain function, I sat up on the medical berth and looked around, I didn't see anyone there.

I looked down at my chassis to see a large repair done over the hole that was once there. You would only notice if you saw it up close, but it was a pretty sizable scar.

I slowly stood up and walked out of the room looking for the others. "On Earth!?" I know the sound of that voice anywhere. I walked a bit farther to where I heard, "I mean isn't it just a bit preposterous" said Starscream as I entered the room.

"Hey guess who survived" I said "Echo welcome back, you should be resting. That was not a wound you could just walk off" said Shockwave. "I'll be ok, thanks for the save" I said, he nodded then I noticed what he was scanning.

"Is that a predacon fossil, how in the name of primus did that get here" I said as I walked over and carefully picked up the fossil.

"They are not the remains of predacons Echo, but rather the remains of predacon clones. For you see our resent autobot hunter wasn't the first beast machine supersoldier Shockwave ever attempted to breed from prehistoric matter. During the war for Cybertron I sanctioned the dispatch of a small army of these prediclones to Earth, to unleashed the beasts on any unwitting autobots stationed here. Once they accomplished their mission the surviving predacons held sentinel on this very world for ages to come. Guarding the energon reserves they had managed to secure while awaiting my arrival, of course our reunion was much delayed. It would seem we lost the beasts to the ravages of time." Said Megatron.

"But not their endomatter, which I am logically able to extract their very CNA" said Shockwave as he took the fossil from my servos "so we'll be able to clone more of them" I said. Starscream huffed "another scavenger hunt how logical would it really be to locate all the dusty remains of your former pets."

"You are not suggesting that I would send my creations to a distant planet without having them, micro chipped" said Shockwave "you really think of everything don't you" I said as I put my servos against my hips "a logical conclusion Echo" said Shockwave looking at me.

"Well I, um, well I was. But seriously you did" said Starscream "of course he would" I said giving Starscream a taste of his own sass. Then Knockout came bursting through the door "Oh thank primus, Echostrike don't ever do that again!" He said pointing at me "oh pulling the full name card" I said "yes now get back to the med wing, I need to give you a check up." He said

I sighed "ok, I'll see you guys later" I said as I walked out following after Knockout. "Sorry I scared ya Knockout, but you weren't there and I went looking for the others" I said as we walked into the med wing. "It's ok Echo, just please for the sake of my spark don't do that again. I can't lose another close friend" he said with his helm down.

I knew he was thinking about Breakdown, I wrapped my arm around him in a side hug as we walked over to the medical berth. "I know what that feels like Knockout, believe me. The pain doesn't go away but we can surround ourselves with bots who care about us and have our backs. That helps to cope with the pain of losing someone you love" I said as he hugged me back, I rubbed his back.

We let go of each other and I got up on the med berth and he got out his scanner to run diagnostics on my systems. "Your systems are working fine, your in good health" he said once he was done scanning me. "Thanks Knockout, your the best" I said as I stood up "I know, but take it easy for a while you still took a pretty big hit." He said as the doors opened in front of me "I will" I said as I turned around and waved at him before leaving and heading to the loading dock.

I walked into the very dead looking room and decided I was going to give it some life. I managed to get a hold of two berths that weren't being used and placed them side by side in the corner the predacon had chosen to sleep in. I went for a flight looking for something that I could add to make the room better. Eventually I found a cave system and decided to investigate.

I landed and transformed, I walked into the cave and looked around the walls. There were some small organics hanging on the roof of the cave, they made some high pitched squeaks. I walked deeper into the cave and found some small energon crystals and some Earth minerals, I collected them and placed them into my subspace. I walked out of the cave, jumped and transformed and flew back to the Nemesis.

I landed and transformed walking into the predacons room and placed the jems all throughout the room, it made it look like they were growing out of the walls. The energon gave off a soft glow, it made it more calming in here. Once I was finished it looked so much more prettier, I laied down on the berths and they were so much better than the floor. I started to fall into rechange when my comm went off "Echo Shockwave may require assistance, prepare for battle" said Megatron.

"Understood" I said as I walked out to see Soundwave standing there. "Hey Sound, I'm ready" I said as he opened a groundbridge I walked towards it but a servos on my shoulder plate stopped me. "Be careful, prime may be there" he said "don't worry I got this" I said with a thumbs up. I jumped, transformed and flew through the groundbridge, Shockwave was lying on his tank as two autobots were driving towards him.

I shot at them using my cannon. I flew over them and made a 180° turn to fight them, I saw Shockwave get up and moved toward the fossil. I saw prime flying around and I attacked him using my cannon and a few missiles I had. The humans were no joke when it came to their aircraft, they had some decent fire power. We flew around each other for a while as I saw Shockwave getting attacked by the two autobots, he knocked one away and shot another close range with his arm cannon.

'That will hurt for a while' I thought as I continued to attack the prime, eventually he turned around and got out his mini gun and started fire back at me. I tried to maneuver around his shots but his gun was too fast and I got hit in the wing. My elevators and flaps were damaged, I couldn't fly like this. I was going down, but so was prime 'I think I hit him' I thought as the ground kept getting closer and closer.

There was a warning coming from my cockpit "altitude altitude, pull up, pull up" I transformed and landed before I crashed. My wing hurt like scrap but I wasn't losing energon "I'm gonna get an ear full from Knockout when I get back" I said to myself. Shockwave was still fight the two autobots, Bumblebee was on his back trying to get at the fossil he had in his servo.

Shockwave threw him down and put his cannon right above his spark chamber, the other one 'I think that's Smokescreen' I thought. He grabbed Shockwave's connection cable from his cannon to his lower back, he threw him off and he landed with a cry of pain.

He charged Smokescreen and was about to strike him hard, but he went straight through him "what in the name of primus was that" I said out loud. Smokescreen was able to go straight through Shockwave and land of the other side of him grabbing the fossil.

He tryed to pry it away from him but his grip was too strong. Bumblebee then got in and started to pull as well, causing the fossil to snap on half. One fang broke lose and was falling towards the prime below, I was about to go after it but my wing was too damaged for me to transform let alone fly.

Then I heard a small buzzing noise and saw Laserbeak flying around, then a groundbridge opened up and the fang fell through. The groundbridge closed and Laserbeak landed on my shoulder plate. Shockwave looked over at me "we have all that we need" he said over the comm, I ran over to him as the autobots began to shoot at us.

We ran through the bridge and arrived back on the Nemesis flight deck where Soundwave was waiting for us. "Laser wasn't harmed, she's ok" I said as she left my shoulder plate and returned to Soundwave chassis. "Be careful" he said and pointed to my damaged wing, my wings went slightly down a bit "I know but this kind of thing happens in war, you can't go into a battle and expect not come out a little scathed" I said.

"Come on lets get you too the medical wing" said Shockwave as he pushed me forward with a servo on my lower back. I sighed "ok but Knockout won't be happy with me" I said with a slight smile. As we reached the med wing Knockout saw me and my wing and gave me a hard look "I know I was already scolded by Soundwave you don't need to as well, thank you Shockwave" I said as I placed a servo on his shoulder plate he nodded his helm and left the room.

"You can't stay out of trouble for one day can you" Knockout said as he got his tools ready. "Trouble finds me anyways, it's part of my charm" I said as I laied down on my stomach on the medical berth. "Would you like me to induce stasis" said Knockout, "yes please" I said while getting comfortable. He typed something into the computer and stairs was induced.
