Min-Jun was withdrawn; the day before kept replaying in his head. His phone kept buzzing away, but he was too closed off from reality to even notice.
There was constant knocking on his room door, but he didn’t respond.

“The young sir hasn’t been out of his room all day,” said one of the workers with concern.

‘Not responding to my messages or calls and has not been out of his room all day? Now that is indeed strange. I've only ever seen this happen once in our entire life time,’ Suk-Chin surmised.

The worker went on her way, but Suk-Chin remained while constantly banging on the door.

“BU MIN-JUN! OPEN UP! If you don’t open up, I'm going to start screaming risqué questions through the door. BU MIN-JUN!”

The door unlocked, and Suk-Chin entered the room.

“AHHH!” screamed Suk-Chin. “What the fu... Why do you look like that?!” he exclaimed.

Min-Jun turned and looked at Suk-Chin.

“If you’re going to be making so much noise, then leave. I'm not in the mood to deal with you right now.” He plopped himself back onto the bed.

“I know things didn’t go as planned for you, yesterday. But that’s no reason for you to look like days-old corpse.”

Min-Jun sat up, giving him a suspicious look.
“How do you know that? I didn’t say anything to you.”

Suk-Chin took a seat beside Min-Jun on the bed, placing a hand on his shoulder.

“My friend, my friend… I know you. Just looking at you now, I can tell that things went sideways. Plus, Shanice messaged me, saying that you’re an idiot.”

“She’s right about that; I'm indeed an idiot.” Frustration showed in Min-Jun’s face. “Wait, Shanice messaged you?? When did you and her become so close?”

“That’s not what’s important here. What's important is that you give me all the details so that I can help you out of this mess,” said Suk-Chin, speaking as if he was giving sagely advice.

Min-Jun sighed heavily and gave Suk-Chin an annoyed look.

“I’m telling you this because I want to. I don’t want your help. What kind of man would Alexis think I am if you butt in? I'll handle it on my own.” He then told Suk-Chin what happened the day prior.

“Wait, wait, wait. Jia?! Jia found you guys?” Suk-Chin burst out in laughter. “She’s scarier than I thought!”

“Are you done?” Min-Jun was even more annoyed.

“Why not just give up on Alexis and date Jia, then?” He added in a light voice, “I mean, we have known each other since forever,” he teased.

“I have something to show you.”

Min-Jun got up and opened the door.

“Get out,” he ordered.

“Oh, come on Min Min, it’s just a joke,” Suk-Chin appeased.

“You shouldn’t even joke about that. I can never date Jia, and you know that. She’s basically family. Why don’t you date her?”

The smile on Suk-Chin’s face vanished immediately.
“Never make such jokes.”

Min-Jun chuckled. “You hypocrite,” he accosted.

“You know what the problem was, right? You have too much of a soft spot for Jia. If you don’t fix that, then you’ll never get a chance with Alexis,” said Suk-Chin.
