"No one is ugly sire." Taehyung's jaw clenched at the remark the officer just made
"Why so hostile over it anyway? Who is she to you? Certainly not your girlfriend" Simon says with a smirk at the end and Taehyung just fakes a smile before speaking further
"Not at all obviously. She is no one to me, just a random kind lady who helped me in my hard times" Taehyung quickly puts on a hurt expression. He knew he had to cook up a firm story. There was no specific reason as to why, Taehyung chose not to tell Simon about his relation with Junie but he thought more information was equal to more trouble.
"Oh! interesting" Simon leans back on his chair
Jungkook who was recording the entire scene had his hands shaking and heart throbbing. No one knew what came next in this intense conversation between the two equally stubborn males.
"What is so interesting sire" Taehyung furrows his eyebrows
"Well, talks are tedious so let's come straight to the point. What do you want me to do for that lady?" Simon asks while eyeing the man who just kept a cup of hot tea for him.
"Just give her a chance. Also, you can't just shut a gambling room like that. We need a notice period" Taehyung demands and immediately the officer snorted
"That is not how law works my lad" officer says, now sipping on his hot tea.
"Please do it. She isn't the type of lady to go against rules. Just this once, give her some days and I am sure she will find something" Taehyung says in the most polite tone
"What will she? What do you propose" officer says moaning at the delicious drink he just gulped
"She will find a legal way." Taehyung continues and the officer was almost about to spit the tea and laugh hard
"A legal way to gambling?" Officer says in a very irritated and yet amused tone
"Yes sire. Just do it. Under section 237, you have to give a notice period for her room. It is her source of income after all" Taehyung says now finally recollecting all the law he studied until now
"Are you trying to teach me law young lad?" The officer was almost about to burst
Jungkook was carefully hiding but two or three people had suspicions as to why the artificial grass plant was suddenly moving. Jungkook was suffering at this moment and waiting for when him and Taehyung can finally leave.
"Not at all. Making you remember it instead" Taehyung says feeling very proud but the officer's face fell. He got up from his seat and said in a little loud voice
"You are a pain in my ass. Half an hour of interrogation and no possible outcome. You are just wasting my time and yours too. Better leave before I throw you out." Simon seemed enraged
"Woah! Calm down sire. Sip some from your hot drink and take a deep breath for I am about to give you something" Taehyung says and the officer turned curious sitting back down
"Here. Take this" Taehyung says handling 12 thousand bucks to the officer who gasps dramatically
" you are bribing me? Did you hit your head somewhere? This is so sick of you" the officer says, his excitement swiftly rising within.
"I'll make it 20" Taehyung says with a slight smirk. The officer sharply takes it, and gets up shaking hands with Taehyung with a beautiful smile spread on his wicked face.
Taehyung mumbles mission successful and walks away not forgetting to carefully get Jungkook along while no one notices
Both come out of the office and gave each other a childish high five shouting in unison that "we did it"
"Then shall we head back now" Jungkook asks
"Isn't it too late now. Plus if we leave like right now, we will be reaching that awful and rather haunted forest around say midnight. I think it is void of wild animals so I guess if you really want, then let's leave" Taehyung says sheepishly and walks ahead but Jungkook who was nervously sweating caught hold of his hands and told him to stop.
"No need. Let's take a shelter somewhere" Jungkook suggests and Taehyung nods. He takes out his phone and searches 'hotels near me'.
On the other side, Aunt June was sitting outside her laundromat when both Taehyung's parents arrived.
Taehyung's mother was quick to embrace her sister while Taehyung's father also simultaneously greeted with a smile.
"How is my little Junie?" Mrs. Kim's cold voice seemed to warm up. June was indeed very special to her.
"I am good sis. How's you and brother-in-law doing?" Junie replies warmly
"Well, we are good too. I can't see Taehyung, where's he" Mr. Kim speaks this time
"Uh huh! So you are here for him, not to see your little Junie brother in law?" June acts cute while giving a nervous laughter
"Obviously." Mr. Kim teases and June's smile fell.
Mrs. Kim gave a playful slap to her husband
"Now shut up! Look she is sad" Mrs. Kim says and Junie starts acting while all three of them laugh in unison. The laughter dies quite soon and now it was Junie's time to cook up a story
"But seriously, where's he?" Mr. Kim asks
"Oh actually I sent him to run some errands for me. Y'all don't mind right" June says, now the environment turning serious every passing second
"Not at all. The lad needs to learn to do stuff by himself" Mr. Kim says and Mrs. Kim nods in agreement
"Well great then. In how much time will he be back approximately?" Mrs. Kim asks and now Junie started sweating.
"Not sure of that. Could take the entire day too" Junie says and her facial expressions were so transparent that Mrs. Kim could see through it. She spoke nothing though.
"Where exactly have you sent him to run errands?" Mr. Kim asks
"Well, up the 11th street" Junie said the first thing that came to her mind when she thought of distant places
"Oh, far but not that far. We can wait for a few hours around this area" Mrs. Kim speaks and Junie's nervousness knew no bounds
"No use troubling yourself. He will first be delivering laundry goodies to our old customers and then visit from house to house to show and sell stuff" Junie says. Who knew she cooked up better stories than our young lad himself?
"Oh! Is it. Then I guess we shall take our leave only" Mr. Kim says
"Why were you here for him anyway? Any news to share? " Junie asks curiously
" Yes, a very good one actually. We really want to share it with him face to face" Mr. Kim says
"Oh ok then. By the way, Can I get you something? Tea or coffee? The bar cross the street sells good" Junie says but both of them deny
"We shall just leave. Do tell him to come straight home so we can have a talk" Mrs. Kim says
"OK done sis" June says, the color of her cheeks slowly coming back
"Goodbye" Mrs. Kim embraces her sister politely and so does Mr. Kim before finally making an exit.
Junie immediately exhales a sigh of relief, now quickly dialing Taehyung's number to know of his whereabouts.
