"Is that it?" Saint asked, referring to all my belongings that needed to be packed.

After that big conversation we had last night, we both slept off our emotions and come morning-he actually offered me to help pack and everything.

He'd also be my ride to the airport, but honestly, I might take a cab, just to avoid any awkwardness.

"That's it, I don't have much." I reminded him, chuckling.

"And you said you ain't have work today?" He questioned.

"Nope, though I should probably let them know I won't be coming back at all," I replied, thinking to myself.

He only leaned against the counter after I spoke, arms folded casually as he stared off in thought.

I decided to not nag him about it at first, but the silence ate at me so eventually, I gave in.

"Okay, spill it, what's wrong?" I asked.

He blinked at me for a moment then replied, "feel like that's a question you already know the answer to."

I sighed at that and leaned against the wall in thought, we haven't really addressed much of last night. Like I'm pretty sure he confessed to having feelings for me, and here I am packing up to leave.

"Saint-"

"Yeah, I know...I get it..still ain't gotta like it." He stated, cutting me off.

"We can still keep in touch ya know, like on the phone and stuff!" I smiled, only to receive a grumpy scowl in response.

"Based on what I heard on that phone, it sounded like you was goin' to the military, I doubt you'll have time for that." He shrugged.

"I will," I told him honestly.

"I don't want you to think that everything you told me last night went unnoticed. I care about you too-a lot." I added.

"So why you still leavin' me?" He questioned simply.

His words sent shivers down my spine, and guilt into my heart.

"It's not that simple saint." I groaned, slapping my forehead.

"I don't want you to leave, I care about you-you care about me-but you're leaving, how much more simple could it get Khalil?" He asked.

"Please stop, I don't wanna argue, not today." I pleaded, shaking my head.

He released a frustrated breath but ultimately nodded, "yeah,"

"How about this-for the remainder of the day, how about we take this time to really understand each other." I smiled.

He nodded at that, prompting me to speak again.

"Absolutely zero arguing, none, nada, none at all," I added.
