Chapter 8 Part 1: I'm Dead

POV: Y/n

'These gym clothes are kinda uncomfortable.'

I shift the clothes around a bit to get more comfortable whilst walking next to Saiki.

I'm glad we've gotten to get to know each other more. Well technically I know everything about him but, no one needs to know that.

I see a couple of our classmates goofing off throwing some volleyballs around and then I see one flying straight for my face.

I quickly duck my head down and use my hands to block it from hitting my face, but I never felt any contact. I look up to see that Saiki had caught the ball.

'Is he god 😍.' I thank Saiki for blocking the ball as he just nods his head. And in the corner of my eye I see Saiki throw the ball in the basket, as it deconstructs because of his immense power 🤩.

"All right losers listen up!" I hear our school gym teacher shout over the noise, we all gather around. "For today's class, we'll play dodgeball!

"Dodgeball? But we're in high school!" A rando yells out.

"Can't we do something else?" Another one yells.

"Stop complaining!" I see Hairo pop up out of no where, ready to give one of his speeches, "Let's give it all we've got!"

"Wow he's really motivated." I whisper in Saiki's ear as he nods.

"So what if it's childish? Let's relive the days of our youth! Come on! We'll have a ball! All right?"

The other students stare in awe as they consider Hairo's enthusiasm for the game.

"Well, if Hairo says so..." A normal looking person says.

"I guess we should give it a shot." Another one says.

Everyone but Saiki and I break out into a cheer, as they decide teams with rock-paper.

'Shit I hope I'm on Saiki's team. 😭 I don't want him to hurl a ball at me!'

...'How could this happen.' I stare at Saiki, on the opposite side, dredging to even play.
