Sunday goes by quickly, spent with with me working, sketching, playing my violin and beginning to make a few flash cards on some stuff the teachers went over in the previous school week.

My second week of attending this school has already begun, and I'm starting to regret every decision I've made. Levi texted me last night, apologising about how Davina pressured him into giving her my number. I was added to a group chat with the full group, which is spammed by memes and random texts, most being expletives at each other.

Maybe being a loner would've been better than making friends. Unfortunately, there's no going back now.

Right now, I'm sitting in chemistry next to Alejandro, waiting for the teacher to come back. She said that she was going to take a bathroom break and that we can all chat away. There isn't much talking going on between Alejandro and I, though. The only reason I sat next to him is because he seems like the only tolerable person in this place.

His hands are tapping against the desk, his body turning slightly towards me every few seconds. It's like he has something to say to me but is too nervous, although he doesn't seem like the type to get nervous.

"Adeline?" he says, making me turn my head to him. I raise a brow, waiting for him to continue. "Do you..." He sighs, leaving me even more confused. "Fuck, do you want a lift to work after school?"

"Nope."

He tuts, running a hand through his black curly hair. "Just say yes."

"Why would I?" He's making me even more confused.

"Davina's making me take you," he mumbles, crossing his arms over his chest while looking at the desk.

I chuckle, making him furrow his brows at me. "You must like her a lot to do what she says."

He glares at me, causing my lips to turn up a little. "Fuck off. I do not like her."

Davina said that exact sentence on Saturday. They even think alike, too. "Sure," I draw out, leaning back in my chair. "And I'll accept your offer. Thank you."

He nods, his body relaxing a little. "Don't mention it."

A few moments later, the teacher walks back into the room, causing a series of groans to be heard throughout the room. She just rolls her eyes and announces that we have a test coming up this Friday on what we've done so far.

Unlike almost everyone else in the room, I don't mind us getting a test. I've been waiting for one to happen for a while now. The only way I feel validated is through being the best in everything I do, and even stupid class tests give me that much needed validation.

The announcement only makes the mood of the room darker, with some people trying to convince her to push it to next week. Of course, she doesn't give in and begins the lesson.
