Sixteen

Kalani:

I patiently wait for someone to come and open the huge front doors to let me in. A smile makes its way on my face when I hear the thumping of Kade's tail wagging against the concrete.

I wait for about half a minute before I hear chatter and footsteps slowly approaching us. I hide my smile and stand up straight, expecting to see Lorenzo.

I do everything I can to not turn my back and drive back home with Kade, then never come out of my house for a whole year. A big and tall man tugs the doorknob, making the piece of wood fly open. I turn my attention to the other man standing beside him and see it's Lorenzo... I think.

One kissed me, and the other convinced me to come to this dinner. I don't know which is worse.

"Hello. Who might you be?" I advert my gaze back to this almost overly masculine male standing in front of me. "Hello, I'm Kalani, and this is my dog, Kade." The man takes one swift look at my dog before catching my eyes with his in more of a questioning matter.

"He's fully trained, you don't have to worry." As I speak, I make sure my voice is clear and firm. This guy looks like he would crush me by blinking and I don't want to come off as weak.

"Very well. I am Dom Romano. Are you one of Alexandro's fuck toys?" I am assuming this is the father of this family by the name.

Yeah and how he's starting to form wrinkles and has that impression of you Kalani.

My grip on Kade's leash tightens a bit more from the audacity this man has. "No I am not. Lorenzo invited me to be here tonight." I study his face and realize there's a hint of confusion. So I decided to help Albert Einstein out.

"I was asked to come to your dinner Mr. Romano. I don't mean to intrude." He shakes his head and steps to the side, opening the door wider. "Come in. This is just quite strange. My son never told me about inviting a girl over tonight."

Not girl. A woman jackass.

He confirmed just now that he is Lorenzo, Leonardo, and Sofia's father. "He didn't tell you?" I realize that whatever twin that has been standing here like a statue hasn't said anything, but he has the decency to guide us to the dining room I suppose.

"No he didn't." I hum in response while we enter the beautifully decorated room with delicious fumes of food flowing through the air. I look around and see the other twin, Alexandro, Sofia, and another woman sat at the gorgeous table.

I give everyone a slight smile to be polite. "Kalani!" My small grin turns into a giant one as Sofia runs into my arms. "Hi Sofia!" I scan around and see everyone staring at the scene happening right in front of them.

She pulls away from the hug and starts to pet Kade, "I thought you wouldn't come!" I smile as she grabs my hand and sits me down in the chair next to her seat. "I always keep my word." She puts on the cheesiest smile ever and my heart almost melts.

"Kade, sit." He obeys my order and sits down in between Sofia and my chair. I turn my head in the direction of the new face. "Hello. I'm Kalani. Lorenzo asked me if I would like to join you all for dinner." The woman grins, "Oh dear you are beautiful. And that is very unlike Lorenzo may I add." She turns to him with a shocked expression.

"Thank you..." She leans over Sofia and places her hand on top of mine. "Vanessa Romano. But just call me Vanessa or V dear." I nod politely. I believe this is the mother, which now that I think about it, Sofia really resembles this lady. "Mom. Father. This is Kalani. I apologize for not saying that I invited her. Sofia persuaded me to, and I knew father would-" Lorenzo stops mid sentence and I notice the death glares shared between him and Dom.
