"How is she doing?" Natasha asked as Steve exited her apartment.

"Not to good, Nat."

"It's been nearly two weeks," Natasha said.

"Things like this don't heal quickly," Steve said with a knowing glance.

"Ya, I know," she replied sadly.

"At least we got you out of there," she said positively. "And the boys are almost done with the formula now."

"I don't think Caty cares anymore," Steve said shortly.

"She really loved him didn't she?"

"Ya. A lot."

Catalina buried her face in her pillow. She couldn't stop crying. She had loved him so much and now he was gone! People had come by and tried to get her moving again but she refused. There was an empty hole deep in her heart that couldn't be filled. It might be covered over eventually but it would never heal.

"Did you feed the prisoner?"

"Yes, I have him his scrap of bread and tiny cup of water."

"Good. We have to at least keep him alive a little while longer."

"Why?"

"Because the master said so!"

"Okay okay but he is getting annoying to have around."

"I know but the master has a plan for him."

"Alright but his red face is weird."
