Hunter went back to the studio today.

Blake is three weeks old today so I told him to go.

We're going to his parents house for dinner when he gets home.

He said he would be home at six.

It's six thirty.

He's never later than he says he's going to be when he goes to the studio.

"I don't know where your daddy is," I whispered at Blake who was laying in my lap.

"Hey," Hunter smiled as he walked through the door.

"Hey? It's six forty five. You said you would be home at six," I told him, louder than I had hoped for.

"I know. I'm sorry. We got carried away and recorded another track. I'm s-" I interrupted him.

"Go get ready. We're leaving in five minutes," I said, pointing to the stairs.

He threw his keys on the counter, ran up the stairs, and slammed the bedroom door behind him.

I sighed and rolled my eyes, getting Blake's diaper bag together.

He came down stairs a few minutes later, grabbing his keys, Blake's car seat, and walking out to the car.

Not saying a single word to me.

I grabbed Blake's diaper bag and walked out to the car.

I put her bag in the back as Hunter put Blake in the car.

I got in on my side and he drove off.

"I don't know why you're so pissed at me," I broke the silence.

"I'm pissed at you because you get pissed at me for being a little late," he yelled.

"Hunter, you were forty five minutes late. You could have called, texted. Something," I yelled back at him.

"Ella, I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say. I can't change the time," he said.

"God forbid if you could it would be six right now," I yelled.

"I don't know what else you want me to do," he parked the car, got out, slammed his door, and grabbed Blake's car seat.

"Hey, mom," he smiled and gave her a side hug.

He walked inside and put Blake's car seat down in the living room as I followed Lynette into the kitchen.

"So how are y'all?" She smiled as I sat down at the counter.

"Fine I guess," I laughed awkwardly.

"What's wrong?" She looked at me, concern filling her eyes.

"I don't really wanna talk about it," I shook my head at her.

"Okay. Well you know you can talk to me if you need to," she came up behind me and hugged me.

"Yeah. I know," I smiled weakly.

So the night continued to go on.

It mainly consisted of Hunter trying to talk to me.

Me ignoring him.

And Lynette giving us concerned looks.

And when we got home it wasn't much different.

I put Blake in her crib and climbed in bed next to Hunter.

Not a word was said.

So I fell asleep next to him.

Next to him.

Not on his chest.

Our backs were facing each other the whole night.
