You know when you just get that gut feeling that today will be a shitty day?
That's how I'm feeling right now as I walk into my office.
I freeze at the doorway when I see a large bouquet of red roses.
I place my stuff down on my desk before searching in between the flowers for a card.
I somehow managed to find it before opening it.
"Meet me at my office after work, we're going for dinner. -L.B."
I roll my eyes at his persistence but I can't stop the smile making its way onto my face as I place the flowers onto a table across the room.
I quickly pull out my phone and take a picture of the flowers.
Charlotte: Thank you for the flowers!
Logan: You're welcome...did you read the card?
Charlotte: Yes.
Charlotte: That's not how you ask a girl on a date.
Logan: I wasn't asking.
Charlotte: Then you'll be eating dinner alone ;)
Logan: I figured you'd say that.
I read his message with a raised brow.
I watch the message bubble anxiously until I hear a knock on my door.
I quickly look up and see my boss.
"Oh, Nathan! You scared me." I laugh.
"We're about to have an emergency company meeting, everyone is meeting in my office." He says and I quickly nod.
I watch as his eyes land on the flowers and I internally curse.
"Wow, nice flowers." He says and I tap my foot anxiously.
"Thanks."
"New boyfriend?" He asks.
"Oh uh- no! It's just from a friend."
"Friends don't send each other 3 dozen roses."
"You don't know my friends."
"Right...well be at my office in 5."
I let out a breath of relief as soon as he exits my office.
I immediately throw off my coat and chuck my phone into my bag before flattening out the wrinkles in my skirts and making my way to his office.
Oh god...I'm gonna get fired, aren't I?
SHIT!
Wait no- I didn't even do anything wrong.
