Spencer

Aaron lays with his head on my lap and I run a hand through his hair. Anderson has been staying with my parents so that they can make sure he's alright.

"Aaron."

"Hmm?" Is all I get in reply and I roll my eyes.

"Are you sure you want to testify? You don't have to do this."

"I am. I know that I'm not required to testify, but I have to. She not only ruined my life, but she ruined Anderson's as well." He says and looks at me.

"But do you really want to go through with seeing her again?"

"If it means keeping my family safe, then yes. You know that you, Dave, and Jason don't need to testify." He says and I chuckle a bit.

"Aaron, my parents were there for the beginning and know a lot, but I also know some things about her that need to be brought to light."

"Like what?" He asks.

"Do you remember when she came over to the house unannounced two years ago?"

"Ya? I came home from a meeting and found you both sitting in the living room. What does that have to do with anything?" He asks.

{Flash back to two years ago to the day}

"So ma'am, how exactly can I help you?"

"Well, I came to see Aaron, but I guess that I got the wrong house. I'm sorry to bother you." The woman says.

"Aaron Hotchner?"

"Yes. Do you know where he lives?" She asks.

"You have the right house. I'm just waiting on him to get home. Do you want to wait for him inside? A cold front is rolling in."

"That would be lovely, thank you." She says and I let her in.

Something gives me an off feeling, but if she wants something with Aaron, then I need to figure out what it is.

"Can I ask how much longer you think Aaron is going to be?" She asks and I check my watch.

"He should get done with his meeting in 10 minutes and with the traffic at the time it'll take him 15 minutes to just get out of the parking garage and onto the street. He's going to pick up groceries and dinner, so that's going to take him about 30 minutes. And then the traffic will be light so he'll get here in 20 minutes after that. So he should be home in 1 hours and 15 minutes."

"You're smart, must be a real charm for the ladies." She says and I fake a smile and chuckle.

"Not really."

She smiles and it unsettles me a bit. To be perfectly honest it worries me a lot. She seems to have an ulterior motive.

"Can I get you anything to drink?"

"No, I'm alright. Can I ask you something though?" She asks and I nod.

"Sure, what's on your mind?"

"How do you know Aaron?" She asks.

"Well, he's my boss, a good friend of mine, and my boyfriend."

"Interesting." She says and I don't like the way she says it.

"Can I ask how you know Aaron?"

She holds a hand out to me and I take it. She has a strong grip and she shakes my hand.

"Beverly Hotchner, Aaron's mother." She says.

"Spencer Reid."

Beverly tightens her grip grip on my hand and mover her other hand over my wrist. She's strong for her age and I force myself not to wince in pain.
