The early morning light gently filtered through the shoji screens, casting a soft glow in the Water Estate. It was 5 a.m., and the world outside was still cloaked in the tranquil embrace of dawn. In one corner of the estate, the dining hall stood quiet and serene, untouched by the turmoil of the previous night.

Haruki, with his eyes still puffy from crying, stirred in his futon. He had cried himself to sleep after venting his grief and anger over Sakura's death. As he opened his eyes and the reality of the previous night slowly returned, he couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for his outburst.

Quietly slipping out of his futon, Haruki tiptoed through the halls of the estate. His tiny feet made barely a sound as he made his way to the dining hall, where he knew he would find Giyuu. He needed to make amends, to apologize for the hurtful things he had said to the man who had become like a father to him.

As he entered the dining hall, he saw Giyuu sitting at the table, a stack of papers and a quill in front of him. The room was bathed in the soft morning light, and the silence was broken only by the scratch of Giyuu's quill against the paper as he diligently wrote his reports to be submitted to Oyakata-sama.

Haruki's eyes welled up with tears again as he saw Giyuu, and he couldn't hold back his emotions any longer. Without a second thought, he rushed over to Giyuu, his small arms wrapping tightly around the man's waist, and he began to cry once more.

"Papa, I'm sorry," Haruki sobbed, his voice trembling with regret. "I didn't mean to say those things last night. I miss Sakura, and I was just so angry and sad."

Giyuu, taken aback by the sudden outburst of emotion, paused in his writing and looked down at Haruki. His stern expression softened, and he gently pried the boy's arms from around his waist, crouching down to Haruki's eye level. He placed a reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder.

"It's alright, Haruki," Giyuu said in a soothing tone. "We all say things we don't mean when we're hurting. I understand how much you miss Sakura, and it's okay to be upset."

Haruki sniffled and wiped his tears on his sleeve. "But I shouldn't have blamed you, papa. You tried to save her, and I know that now."

Giyuu smiled, a rare expression for him. He lifted Haruki into his arms and held him close. "I forgive you, Haruki. And I want you to know that I'll always be here for you, no matter what. We're a family, and we'll get through this together."

Haruki nodded, his small face still stained with tears but now bearing a glimmer of hope. In that quiet moment, as dawn's light continued to fill the room, a bond between a hardened Demon Slayer and a grieving child grew even stronger.

They sat together, Giyuu and Haruki, embracing the dawn and the promise of a new day. The weight of sorrow still lingered, but they now carried it together, finding solace in each other's presence and the understanding that healing would take time.

And as the sun rose higher in the sky, casting warm rays of light upon the Water Estate, they knew that even in the darkest of times, there was a flicker of light, a chance for a new beginning.
