(M|n) anxiously surveyed his surroundings, preparing to be at the ready at any time in case something unexpected sprung from the ancient ruins that he and Solomon were precariously traversing.

"You know, it would do you good to relax. Using spells require immense energy and peace of mind. Being so tense and unsettled may interfere when you're casting them." (M|n) sighed heavily at Solomon's words. How did Solomon expect him to be calm in a situation like this?! He didn't even know properly where they were and neither did Solmon! Who knew what they might encounter. . .

"Is searching for this amulet really that important? For all we know, it could be a trap or not even exist at all!"

"I have to confirm whether it truly exists or not. From what I've researched, though numerous Devildom tales discuss this amulet and its powers, no one's ever actually found it to confirm whether it can truly grant any creature's most inner desires." This explanation from Solomon made (M|n) realise why none of the demon brothers had been told about this trek. Who knew what each and every one of them would do when hearing that there was an amulet which could potentially grant them whatever they wanted. . .

"Why did you bring me along? You could have just come yourself." (M|n) wondered aloud.

"Well, I thought that this would be the perfect time to test whether the lessons we've done together so far have sunk in. I know you've struggled quite a bit with our exercises and I'm hoping that maybe some practical work may drill the spells into you." (M|n) soon grew bored as they continued to walk. So far, they had found nothing. . .

He began to hum tunelessly to himself as he fiddled with his bag straps. He looked to the ground and kicked any loose rocks that he saw.

His eyes widened when he felt the ground beneath suddenly begin to tremor. His eyes shot up, the anxiety and confusion written clearly across his face.

"Solomon, you better know what the hell is going on right now!" (M|n) shouted as he turned to the look at him. Solomon was surveying their surroundings in a hurry. His eyes stopped near (M|n)'s feet. He muttered a spell under his breath. When he did, suddenly a glowing line appeared that seemed to have been snapped.

"What's that. . .?" (M|n) exclaimed.

"We've set off a trap. . ." Just as Solomon said this, the tremors began to grow in intensity. The two's eyes widened when they turned to look and what they saw was a huge spheric rock, worn with age, coming straight for them.

(M|n) was glued to the spot in absolute fear. If Solomon hadn't grabbed his hand when he did and transported them out of the destructive ball's path, he would have been crushed. (M|n)'s heart was racing uncomfortably fast. He needed time to process what had just happened.

He felt worthless, knowing that he was supposed to be the one to transport them out of there but his fear prevented him from doing so. He was about to apologise but he was cut off by Solomon, "It's alright. Don't beat yourself up about it." (M|n) was unsure how Solomon read his mind. Did his emotions show that easily on his face. . .?

"Hmm. The ruins seemed to have messed with my spell. I don't know where we exactly are. . ." (M|n) groaned. How were they going to leave this place?! That was when (M|n) noticed something glowing faintly in the distance.
