SAM FROM GLEE okay well im outside but i figured i should text before i knocked so you knew i was coming
REMS the door is unlocked, come on in
I stepped out of my room when the door opened so I could meet Sam. This was out of character for him. He normally didn't just show up to the apartment, he always texted before even leaving. Ruby greeted him before I could, rubbing up against his ankle as if she knew something was wrong.
"Sam, what's wrong?" I ask, looking at him. His eyes were red and puffy as if he'd been crying. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders tightly and he sort of just melted into my embrace. After a few moments, I led him to my couch where we sat next to each other.
I let my best friend, my brother, rest his head against my shoulder as he explained everything to me. He and Katrina had broken up. They'd been together for years, but as of recently, Kat was ready to take the next step in their relationship and Sam wasn't. With that, he thought it would be in their best interest to part ways so she could find what she wanted, what he wasn't ready for.
"It still just sucks," he says, having started crying again while telling me what had happened.
I nod, running my hand up and down his upper arm, hoping to provide some comfort, "I know it does. It won't hurt like this forever, I promise."
