Something certainly shifted in the air in the next few days.

Because how was it that Kai and Beomgyu were in their respective rooms, pacing around wearing comfy clothes, avoiding each other like the plague, and waiting for people they know to pick up the phone.

And all at the same time.

Bzzz. Bzzz. Bzzz.

"Oh come on pick up!" Beomgyu urged.

"It shouldn't even be that late right now!" Kai uttered.

Finally both calls were answered.

["Gyu?"] Yeonjun said.

["What's up?"] Soobin questioned, shutting off the tab.

["I just finished up my class, lemme find a better spot that has a better signal,"] Taehyun replied, looking around.

"It's fine."

["Why did you call?"] Yeonjun asked.

"I umm..."

Beomgyu popped his earbuds in, and turned on noise cancellation.

"I have to talk to you guys about something."

At long last, Kai saw his sisters and his best friend picking up the phone.

The first thing that greeted him was Bahiyyih screeching and shutting her camera off, making him regret wearing earbuds.

["KAI, GIVE A WARNING THAT ALEC IS THERE!"]

["Wow, I've known you since you were 12,"] Alec said, playing hurt.

"What, what were you doing?" Kai asked.

["Probably in the middle of applying makeup,"] Lea chuckled, adjusting the lamp in her office.

"OUCH!"

Bahiyyih had put too much heat on her eyelash curler, and was now suffering from a minor burn on her eyelid skin.

["Told ya,"] Lea remarked.

["Shut up."]

["Be careful next time!"]

["Whatever."]

["Girls, be quiet; Kai, why'd you call?"] Alec questioned, putting his yogurt aside.

["Right."]

Kai exhaled.

"So uh—"

["By the way, wasn't there some kind of storm in Indonesia the other day?"] Bahiyyih asked.

["WHAT?!"] Lea screamed.

The ravenette groaned.

"Thanks a lot Hiyyih."

["You're welcome."]

["You were saying,"] Alec reminded him.

"Fine. Yes, there was one storm, but at least I survived."

["That's good!"]

["I would have already sent an emergency rescue helicopter if that weren't the case,"] Lea commented.

"As expected from you."

["Okay, come on Kai, spill the beans."]

Kai sighed again, and spilled it.

"I umm... I think I've fallen for my housemate."

Beomgyu instantly regretted wearing headphones.
