Val and I actually became friends! He's actually pretty sweet. His accent is also really cute. But don't take this as me into him. I don't like him like that. He's just nice to have around, and he's really hot, but still! I'm not over Jared. I'm still completely demolished over him. I don't think I'll ever recover from his death.

"So, what do you do? You look very familiar." Val said. We were on their back porch. Turns out he smokes weed, like me. So Nabi, my grandma, his mom, Sasha, and Rowan were inside talking to each other as we decided to smoke. Although it was snowing.

"I was in a band! I quit recently though. But I'm always welcome to join again." I replied

"Skrap!!" He exclaimed.

"Yes!" I replied, "what do you do?" I asked.

"I'm in film school. It's my last year and then I'm moving to California to continue it in Sacramento." He explained.

"Sacramento!? I live not so far from there!" I replied.

"Really? We should hang some more. I've never been to America before. How's it like there?" He asked.

"It's uh, alright. I mean, it's such a new country compared to here. You've got such old and historical buildings, while America is new, so there isn't much history there." I explained. We kept talking, until the question came.

"You married? You have a ring on." He asked.

"Uh, it's complicated. My husband passed away a few months ago. He gave me his ring and I gave him mine. So he's currently buried with mine." I explained.

"Oh. I'm so sorry. Now that I think about it, i remember my mom talking about you. I can't even imagine what you're going through. I have never been in good relationships, and I can never keep one going for more than a few months." He told me.

"He was everything to me. I loved him so much to where it hurt spending even a second without him. And now it hurts even more. I still can't sleep at night that well. I can barely even look at his brother since they're identical twins, I can't look at my daughter without seeing him. I miss him so much." I explained, fighting back tears.

"How long were you guys together?" He softly asked.

"Hm... well. We've been together since we were 15. But I've been friends with him since we were 8. So it's about... 13 years. But we've known each other for 20 years." I replied.

"I can't even imagine losing someone like that. I'm so sorry." He told me. He put his hand on my arm. I will say that I froze.

"I had a boyfriend once..." he began to say. He kept talking but i didn't listen. Boyfriend? He's gay?

"After that accident, he ended things with me. Him and I were together for almost a year. I know it's nothing compared to your situation, but I was worried and he didn't care." He continued to say. He realized he had his hand on me and took it off.

"Sorry, I forget Americans don't really do that." He laughed a little.

"Do what?" I asked.

"We lay our hands on each other when talking every now and then." He explained.

"I didn't know you were into guys." I replied.

"Oh, I didn't mention that? Oops." He laughed, "yeah. I'm bisexual. I've only been with 2 boys though. I dated some girls in highschool." He explained.

"How long have you known?" I asked.

"I found out when I was in highschool. Ended up sleeping with some guy after a party. Then when I woke up with us naked in bed, we just looked at each other, and made out until we had to leave." He laughed. "How did you realize?"
