CHAPTER 13

JARNEIA’S POV
 
Nang makarating kami sa bahay ay saka naman siya napainom ng tubig. Sa amin siya matutulog dahil nga may party kaming pupuntahan bukas. “Ano bang nakain ng ex mo?” takang tanong ko.
 
“Hindi ko rin alam. Tingin ko ay kanina pa niya tayo sinusundan,” sagot naman niya at saka siya napaupo sa upuan. “Kung hindi dumating ang Andy na ‘yon nadapuan ka na ng sapak, nagmamarunong ka kasi,” inis na sabi naman niya sa ‘kin at saka ako napahawi ng buhok ko.
 
“Hindi ko naman hahayaan na may mangyaring masama sa ‘yo. Isa pa ay baka ako ang masisi dahil tayong dalawa lang naman ang magkasama,” paliwanag ko naman.
 
Sa totoo lang ay natakot rin ako sa nangyari kanina pero nagtataka ako sa kung bakit nandoon si Andy. Tingin ko ay hindi lang siya doon napadaan o baka naman may dinaanan kaya siya nandoon. Naisipan na lang din naming magpahinga ni Alisha dahil napagod rin kami sa nangyari ngayong araw at sa pag-iikot sa mall makabili lang ng kung ano’ng kakailanganin namin. Habang nagsasara ako ng kurtina ay napansin kong may sasak’yan sa may labas ng gate namin at tingin ko ay nagmamat’yag ito. Bigla akong kinabahan sa kung anong maaring mangyari pero huminahon ako. Nilapitan ko si Alisha na no’n ay nakahiga sa kama at saka ko siya kinalabit.
 
“May nakita akong sasak’yan sa labas at tingin ko ay nagmamat’yag,” bulong ko at saka siya tumayo at sumilip sa bintana.
 
“Kailangan nating tumawag ng pulis,” sabi naman niya at saka ako napahawak sa kamay ko.
 
“Baka naman si Hrin pa rin ‘yan, Alisha?”
 
“Aba ano’ng malay ko? Matagal na kaming brake—ano’ng hahabulin no’n sa ‘kin, kipay ko?” inis na sabi niya at saka ako napatampal sa mukha ko.
 
 
 
 
ZACH’S POV
 
“Oh, Zach, don’t you have anything to do in your office right now?" was Mommy’s opening question to me.
 
“I have a party that I need to attend, ‘cause Jarneia is invited to that party,” I said.
“Really?” takang sabi ni Mommy at saka ako tumango at saka kumuha ng tubig sa ref. “By the way, I and your dad will have a small party for his birthday. You should invite Jarniea, ‘cause I know your dad will look for Jarneia,” she said, and I nodded at her.
 
I didn’t know that Jarneia would be close to Mom and Dad, and I didn’t think everything would be like this. When I finished drinking, I went out first, and there I saw kuya Zax, and he was resting now. He looked at me while he was holding his son, and his wife was in the swimming pool.
 
“Yo!” bati nito sa ‘kin. “Do you want me to replace you?” tanong niya at saka ako tumawa.
 
“Of course you can,” I said, and he laughed too.
 
“What were you planning for?”
 
“Hmm, I just need some reports, and I think I need to follow Jarneia to their party later.”
 
“Bro, you’re too possessive,” ani nito at saka ako umling.
 
“You don’t know what’s the reason,” I said.
 
Napakunot siya ng noo at saka siya tumingin sa asawa niya na kakaahon lang. “Then, what’s the reason?”
 
"One of her classmates has bad intentions toward her."
 
I got up and went down into the water, despite the fact that I had just woken up; I did not mind the cold water, mataas na rin naman ang sikat ng araw. I don’t know how many minutes I spent swimming in the pool and hanging out in the pool until I decided to leave and go into my room. When I got dressed, I looked at my laptop and watched Jarniea as if she had gone.
Hindi ko maiwasan ang hindi mapangiti sa oras na makita siya at hindi ko rin maiwasan ang hindi mainis dahil sa lalaking nagmamasid sa kaniya. Hindi ko alam kung anong balak pa nito sa ngayon pero malakas ang kutob kong may balak ito sa mismong party para mamaya. I couldn’t help but smile at the time I saw her, and I also couldn’t help but be impatient because of the man watching her. I don’t know what his plans are for now, but I have a strong feeling that he has plans for the party later.
 
I called Sedrick, and he immediately answered his cellphone. “Hello, Boss?”
 
“What’s the news?” I ask.
 
“Not yet, but I think last night he was just stalking Jarneia,” he replied, and then I nodded. “But Boss is just surprised that Andy was also there last night. Isn’t he watching over Jarneia too?” takang sambit nito at saka ako napahawak sa ulo ko.
 
“I don’t know either. Don’t mind him, just focus on Jarneia.”
 
“Copy Boss,” he answered, and I cut the call.
 
Honestly, I don’t know what Andy’s plan is and why he’s watching Jarneia, and if he’s watching her, for what reason? I just sighed, then I prepared what I would wear. I need to get well later; maybe she won’t look at me. The night came, and I got ready after I got dressed. I then chose what car I would use later. When I made my choice, I turned it on, and then I got there first, but I have a VIP pass that only people like us have. Here, in the chosen place of their reunion, only big people can rent. I entered the room, where I could wait for my entrance later. I look at the computer connected to the CCTV here, and I just nod at the people I see. But my forehead furrowed when I saw Zix, who was also there. 
 
What the heck is he doing here?
 
Napahawak ako sa baba ko at saka pinaikot-ikot ang na;;pen sa kamay ko. When I saw Jarneia at the entrance, I was fascinated. She was beautiful in her dress, and everyone looked at her. There’s no denying that her entrance was good, but of course, I’m not happy that Zix’s greeted her.
 
“It’s good that you arrived,” he said, then I frowned.
 
“Hmm. You also,” Jarneia said with a smile.
 
“What the fuck?” I was annoyed as I watched them.
 
I also put a small mic on her dress so I could hear what she had to say. It’s connected to the ear pods that are on my ears and to every CCTV I watch. Sedrick and Velerick arrived just in time, and I motioned to them to come to me. I explained to them what they needed to do, and when I finished explaining, I left and went to the venue. I was their special guess. Since I am the owner of this building, I will be their special guest. I then saw some of Jarneia’s batch mates and classmates, I couldn’t help but look bad in their clothes, but I don’t care about them. Simula nang ginawa ni Jarneia ang nakawan ako ng halik noon ay hindi ko na siya magawang kalimutan at mas lalo akong nagbaliw sa kaniya ngayon.
 
“Ok, so nandito na ang ating special guest. Mr. Zach Knox Smith Davis!”
 
I heard their applause, but my attention was only on Jarneia, and I think she is hiding me now because she is behind Alisha. I just smiled at what he was doing, then I looked at everyone and started my speech. “Good evening to everyone here today. Nice to meet you guys. I’m glad I was invited as a special guest tonight. I never thought that I would be part of this party, and in fact, I am also here because my fiancé is here. She’s the most beautiful woman here tonight, and I’ve only been looking at her since earlier.” I heard them whisper and seemed to be looking for the woman I was referring to.
 
“Sino naman po siya Mr. Davis?” One asked, and then I smiled at her.
 
I grabbed the mic, and then I walked over to Jarneia’s place, and she was hiding behind Alisha, so they thought I was referring to Alisha, but I am not. I don’t know what kind of craziness this woman has because no matter she hides behind Alisha, I can still see her.
 
“Teka lang naman sandali. Hindi naman ako ang tinutukoy niya ‘no!” sabi nito at saka hinila si Jarneia sa likuran niya at napasinghap naman si Jarneia sa ginawa ni Alsiha.
 
“B’wisit ka, Alisha,” inis na sabi niya sa kaibigan niya.
 
“B’wisit ka rin, Jarneia,” sabi naman ni Alisha at saka siya dumistansya.
 
“Laging hindi maganda ang timing mo rin, ‘no?” pikong saad niya pero hindi ko na lang din inintindi dahil mas gusto ko pa s’yang asarin ngayon.
 
“Masyado mo naman akong pinagtatabuyan. Hindi mo ba alam na gustong-gusto ka nila Mommy at Daddy?” bulong ko at saka siya nangunot ng noo sa ‘kin.
 
“Ako ba niloloko mo?”
 
“Do I look like that?”
 
“Naman Zach, pati ba naman dito ay sinundan mo ‘ko?”
 
“Why not?” tanong ko. Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya at saka ko pinakit ito sa lahat. “Everyone, she’s Jarneia Marin Mendoza my fiancé,” pagpapakilala ko sa kanila at saka ko narinig ang magagandang bati nila na siya namang kinaiinis ni Jarneia.
 
I saw how they were happy with us, and I could see the annoyance on Jarneia’s face as if she was a loser, even though she was really lucky to have me. She pulled me out of the venue hall, then the two of us faced each other, and she looked me in the eyes badly.
 
“Have I done something wrong again?” I ask her, and she nods at me.
 
“Fucking shit, Zach. Bakit naman dito pa? Hindi nga nila alam ang k’wento ng buong buhay ko at alam nila ay gumawa ako ng kuwento.”
 
“Then now, they know,” sabi ko at saka siya napahilamos sa mukha niya. “Will you just let me do what I want to do?”
 
“Ano?”
 
“You heard me?”
 
“Naman!”
 
“Wala ka na rin naman magagawa dahil alam na nang lahat kung ano ka sa ‘kin,” saad ko at saka siya napatampal sa mukha niya.
 
Now I held her, then I pulled her back to the venue hall, and there she was met by her classmates. From the CCTV, I signaled that I knew Sedrick and Velerick would see. I first left Jarneia at her place. Zix looked at me, and then he gave me a drink, and we both cheered. He just laughed at what was happening now, but even so, I knew he was disgusted.
 
“Hindi ko alam na may balak ka pala ngayon?” sabi niya at saka ako natawa ng pagak.
 
“I didn’t do that if there’s nothing that I need to worry about,” I answered, then I looked at Jarneia.
 
“Worry about what?” takang tanong niya at saka hinanap ng mga mata ko ang kinalalagyan ni Arjay.
 
“One of the people here was Jarneia’s stalker,” sabi ko at saka naman siya napailing.
