CHAPTER 5

Flashback Continues

Haseena's guests arrived, showering her with congratulations for a significant milestone. However, despite being physically present at the party, her mind was preoccupied with thoughts about her relationship, preventing her from truly enjoying her special day. The weight of her emotions overshadowed the celebratory atmosphere, making it difficult for her to be fully present and engaged in the celebration.

As Karishma descended the stairs carrying Haseena's blazer, she was intercepted by Noor Jahan midway.

"Karishma hai na?" Noor Jahan inquired.

Karishma replied with a faint smile, "Ji.."

Noor Jahan continued, "Hum ne bahut suna hai tumare baare mein. Karu ye karti hai, karu wo karti hai. Kabhi kabhi lagta hai Shivani nai tum iski best friend ho."

Realizing that Haseena talks about her at home very frequently, Karishma mused, "Kuch cheezon ko lekar wo bahut importance deti hai. Shayad hum bhi unn mein se ek hai."

Agreeing with Karishma, Noor Jahan nodded, "I agree... Uske liye rishte bahut important hai. Agar koi rishte banaya hai toh pura karke rehti hai. Waise wo hai kahan?"

Karishma glanced around, "Hum bhi Hasu ko dhund rahe hai. Unka coat bhi humare pas hai."

"Shivi!" Noor Jahan called out Shivani.

Joining Noor Jahan and Karishma, Shivani responded, "Ji Ammi..."

Curious, Noor Jahan inquired, "Hasu kahan hai?"

Shivani informed, "Garden mein apne dosto ke saath." She noticed Haseena's blazer in Karishma's hand and offered, "I will give back her coat."

Karishma, feeling possessive, pulled her arm back slightly and asserted, "Koi baat nai hum de denge. I need to talk to her anyway."

Karishma noticed Haseena in the garden surrounded by their college friends. Despite Haseena's smile, Karishma sensed a lack of genuine happiness in her expression. Determined to address their issue, Karishma approached Haseena in the hopes of understanding what was truly on her mind, keeping the proposal ring in her purse.

"Hasu..." Karishma began softly, holding her arm.

Turning towards Karishma, Haseena responded with a faint smile, "Yes please..."

Karishma extended Haseena's jacket, saying, "Tumara coat..."

Haseena, with a mix of coldness and concern in her tone, replied, "Wear it. It's getting cold." Fearing Haseena's warth, Karishma quickly wore the blazer.

One of Haseena's friends teased her, "Yaar Haseena ye party toh theek hai. But we said we want a trip. Aisi parties toh hoti rehti hai."

Haseena casually remarked, "Party mumma ki taraf se hai. Hum aaj hi Nanu se baat karte hai Shimla jane ke liye."

Joining the group, Shivani teased Haseena, "Aur kya pata Shimla mein tumhe apni Naina mil jaye."

Looking towards Karishma, Haseena responded, "Hume pyaar mohabbat mein koi interest nai hai."

Another friend teased Haseena further, "Bunny ko bhi pyaar mohabbat mein interest nai tha... Usne bhi bola tha, 'Naina main udna chahta ho, bhagna chahta ho, girna chahta ho bas rokna nai chahta.' But usko pyaar ho hi gaya."

Karishma, in response, quipped, "Kya pata Hasu ko apni Naina mil gayi ho bas hum sab ko nai bata rahi hai."

Shivani said in an upset tone,"Haseena...! You didn't say to your best friend? Koun hai meri wo sautan?"
