As the morning light filtered into her chambers, Ryis stirred from her slumber, finding herself alone and covered only by a delicate blanket. She blinked sleepily and rubbed her eyes, feeling the weight of exhaustion. Using her elbows for support, she sat up, causing the blanket to slip down her torso. Reacting quickly, she used her arms to secure it, ensuring her modesty remained intact.

As she gingerly placed her feet on the floor, she couldn't help but shiver at the touch of the cold stone beneath her. Determined to find something to shield herself from the chilly air, she sat up and cast her eyes around the room. The light silk blanket that had covered her during the night was simply not enough to ward off the cold. Her gaze fell upon a crumpled nightgown, abandoned on the floor as if forgotten. With a sense of relief, she reached for it, grateful to have found a more substantial cover to wrap herself in

Like a blur, she sprinted across the room, her nimble steps barely making a sound on the smooth floor. As her hand reached out to grab the nightgown, the door swung open behind her, catching her off guard. Reacting instinctively, she twisted her body around with such force that it felt as if her neck might snap. Her eyes met the intruder's, and a mix of surprise and irritation flashed across her face, wondering why they hadn't bothered to knock before barging in.

Jace's presence was undeniable as he stood frozen for a brief moment, before swiftly pivoting and shielding his eyes. The words of apology tumbled out of his mouth, repeated over and over again, as if trying to make amends for an unforgivable mistake.

"Oh my goodness," Jace exclaimed, his voice filled with remorse. "Ryis, I can't even begin to express how sorry I am. I should have definitely knocked before barging in like that." His face turned a deep shade of crimson, his embarrassment evident in the way his cheeks flushed a vibrant red.

Ryis let out an exasperated sigh as she adjusted her nightgown, trying to maintain her composure despite Jace's unexpected intrusion. "It's really not a big deal, Jace," she reassured him, her tone laced with a hint of amusement. With a quick flick of her wrist, she smoothed out the fabric of her nightgown, hoping to put an end to the awkward situation.

Jace slowly turned around, his cheeks still flushed with embarrassment. He couldn't help but fidget nervously, his gaze fixed on the floor. Ryis observed him curiously, noticing the way his curly hair framed his face. Despite the awkwardness of the moment, she couldn't help but find his reaction endearing.

As Jace finally composed himself, Ryis couldn't help but stifle a laugh at the whole situation. "You really need to relax, Jace," she said with a playful smile, trying to lighten the mood. She gestured towards the door, signalling that he could leave now that she was decently dressed. With a shake of her head, she couldn't help but wonder how they always managed to find themselves in such amusing predicaments.

She casually approached him, her eyes fixed on his hair. "Your hair," she remarked, her voice filled with simplicity as she reached out to run her fingers through it, a gesture she often shared with him. He leaned into her touch, savoring the intimacy for a moment before gently pulling away. "Actually, I thought I would change it," he murmured softly, his words tinged with uncertainty. Ryis regarded him with a puzzled expression, feeling a sudden unease wash over her as he distanced himself. She glanced down at the floor, sensing a new kind of awkwardness that she had never experienced before.

As he withdrew, she mustered a faint smile and spoke softly, "It looks nice." Turning away, she made her way towards the dresser, her mind filled with questions and a lingering sense of confusion

Jace informed her with a slight cough, shutting the door behind him as he entered her chamber, "Your presence is requested by my mother for a council meeting... she insists that you attend."

Softly, she expressed her reluctance, "I really don't wish to go..."

Curiously, he inquired, taking a step closer to her, "Why is that?"

Plainly, she replied, gazing at her reflection in the mirror and adjusting her hair over her shoulder, which cascaded down to her waist, "I have important matters to attend to..."

he nodded his head and took a step back closer to the door.

As she gazed at him through the mirror, a soft sigh escaped her lips. "It's not that I don't want to go," she murmured, her voice filled with a hint of regret. "I simply have more pressing matters to attend to." With those words, she turned away from her reflection and met his eyes, shattering the silence that had enveloped them. Slowly, she took a step closer to him, and an undeniable heaviness settled in the air, thickening the tension between them.

"its ok.." he uttered softly looking down on her. Her eyes were like a mesmerizing symphony, captivating and enchanting all who dared to look into them. They possessed an ethereal quality, shimmering with a hint of mystery and allure. Like the mythical sirens of old, her eyes had the power to draw you in, casting a spell that was impossible to resist.

Her lips were like delicate rose petals, soft and inviting. The way they curved into a gentle smile could melt even the coldest of hearts. Every time she spoke, they moved with such grace, like poetry in motion. They were the perfect shade of pink, like a blush of a first kiss.

As the sunlight bathed the room in a soft, ethereal glow, their eyes met, filled with a mixture of anticipation and longing. The air crackled with an electric energy, as if the universe itself was holding its breath, waiting for that perfect moment to unfold. Their hearts beat in sync, echoing the rhythm of their unspoken desires. It was a scene straight out of a fairy-tale, where time stood still and the world faded away, leaving only the two of them in their own little universe.

Slowly, they moved closer, their bodies gravitating towards each other as if pulled by an invisible string. Their hands trembled, fingers intertwining with a delicate touch. The room seemed to shrink, the distance between them closing with every heartbeat. Their breaths mingled, warm and sweet, as they leaned in, their lips mere inches apart. It was a moment suspended in time, where the world held its breath.

And then, their lips finally met in a tender, passionate kiss. It was a collision of emotions, a symphony of sensations that sent shivers down their spines. Time seemed to stand still as they lost themselves in the intoxicating taste of each other. In that stolen moment, the world around them ceased to exist, and all that mattered was the connection they shared. It was a kiss that spoke volumes, a silent declaration of their love and desire. And as they pulled away, their eyes locked once again.
