«I want what you don't show me»

The arrest had been made, Daisy had not been asked to take part in the interrogation and so she had spent the rest of her time, while Emily and Rossi interrogated Mary's father, listening carefully and trying to learn as much as possible.

Fortunately, the two managed to extract a confession and both parents of the missing girl were handcuffed. There was nothing left the FBI could or would do to find Mary as all the leads they had tried had led to nothing.

"How did you get that kid to say those things so quickly?" - Rossi asked, approaching Daisy on the balcony who was busy sipping a coffee and smoking a cigarette

"I discovered at a very young age that if I talk enough I can make everything right or wrong. So, either I'm God, or truth is relative, but either way I still win."

"I like you kid, you will have a great career in the FBI." - the older profiler told her

"I'd like everyone to like me though" - Daisy said, giving Rossi a grateful smile

"It's not that she doesn't like you, Daisy, it's that this team has seen a lot, and Emily more than any of us. Everyone reacted in a way and her reaction was to harden, increasing her trust issues. Many tried to dismantle the BAU countless times, she's just afraid that someone is trying again." - Rossi replied, immediately understanding what she was referring to

"I have no intention of doing anything like that Rossi. I want to stay here, in this team, I belong to this unit, I sweated a lot to be here, I don't want to go back."

Daisy was lying through her teeth, but as she had said earlier, the truth was truly relative. What creeped her out, though, was that she was actually there to dismantle that team, but not in the way Prentiss and the others expected.

"How can you be here so young? I'm really curious."

"At eighteen I enrolled in law school, I graduated at twenty-four with a thesis in criminal law on organized crime. I understood that it was my path and I applied to join the FBI, abandoning the idea of becoming a lawyer. After a year of courses I joined my old team and worked there for three years before requesting a transfer." - Daisy replied, proudly listing her CV

If only Davis Rossi had known all the work she had to do on herself to get there alive and sober at the age of eighteen, still able to think efficiently and enroll in law school.

"Keep it up kiddo, and go talk to Emily, she's definitely in her office. Better if you go there than if she comes looking for you." - the old profiler advised her, patting her on the shoulder and knowing perfectly well that Emily must be furious with her

She headed towards Emily's office, inhaling a small breath of courage before knocking; that gesture might have just become a ritual. She waited for Prentiss to give her permission to enter, which Daisy did not receive.

Daisy was, however, convinced that her boss was inside her office and she was extremely torn about whether or not to enter without the office owner's permission. She opted to go in anyway, even without permission, because she wouldn't be able to maintain her sanity if she left that conversation unfinished.

She found Emily Prentiss with her hands in her gray hair and her eyes lowered to the table, staring at the cosmic nothingness that lay between the wrinkles of the oak wood of her desk. Daisy would have expected anything but that scene.

"I didn't tell you to come in." - Emily said, with a resigned voice and without looking up from the table

"I know, but I thought you wanted to talk to me. Sorry to bother you, I can come back tomorrow." - Daisy said, realizing that that must be a really bad moment
