«maybe it wasn't meant to be.»

Daisy tried for a long time to make Emily come to her senses but the fact that she was chained and that there was nothing in that room to help her made it difficult, so the younger woman made sure that the gray-haired woman was lying on her back on the floor with her head resting on her legs.

She had to fall asleep soon after and she had no idea how much time had passed when the hidden door of the room was thrown open and a beam of light illuminated the room, making her eyes hurt terribly.

Declan entered shortly after, with a gun in his hands and an evil grin on his face. He didn't say anything for quite a while, just stood there staring sadistically at the older woman and then walked over to Emily, still unconscious, yanked her and stood looking closer at every bruise he'd given her.

Those sudden movements, so far from the caresses that Daisy had given her before falling asleep, also made Emily wake up and she, like the other prisoner, took a long time to realize what was around her due to the strong pain in her head and the sudden light.

"I did a really good job, didn't I?" - Declan asked Daisy, showing her Emily's bruises clearly in the light

That action and those words earned him a spit in the face from the older woman and he immediately reacted by kicking her in the stomach, not very hard, but it still made her cry: she must have had some broken ribs to have had that reaction.

"Don't go too far Declan, you were just supposed to kill her, not torture her like that." - Daisy said keeping a cold tone of voice, still trying to play her part

"You don't have much right to speak princess, you betrayed me, you really fell in love with her and that's why you're here too. These tortures are for you, not for her, but I am good man so when I've finished having fun I'll let you go, so stay quiete now." - Declan said and then stepped on Emily's broken ankle, making her scream

"Do you think I care about her? Even if I might have some mild feelings for her do you really think I care about seeing her suffer? I couldn't love her more than I love Rose and I loved Claudia." - Daisy said getting up and approaching the man, but without exaggerating too much since she was tired and still under the influence of drugs, while he was lively and armed

"So what if I point this beautiful gun at her head now? Wouldn't you mind?" - Declan asked, forcing Emily to stand up and doing exactly what he had just said

A shiver of panic immediately ran through Daisy, making her gasp for air. She immediately met Emily's desperate eyes; she hadn't said a word until then and that she was passively accepting her death, unlike Daisy had asked her to do.

"I couldn't wait to kill you Emily, you caused my father's death, you made me grow up without him and you never bothered to take me in. You are a loveless woman and you only deserve to die." - Declan said in a small voice, pushing the gun against Emily's right temple

"Enough! You'll have to shoot me first. Sometimes people we love die or get hurt and there's nothing we can do to stop it." - said Daisy and at that stance Emily's hardened heart immediately melted and she began to cry

"Be careful with what you say, Daisy." - Declan said, pointing the gun at her

The boy, however, had no real intention of shooting Daisy because in that time they had spent together he had learned to care for that girl. He admired her, even though they were on two completely opposite sides.
