[Note: this suddenly popped into my head and thought I should add this as a bonus chapter before I forget. I'm still on hiatus]
3RD PERSON POV
Monsters came out of portals from the sky, attacking and killing many innocent villagers.
As many of them are surrounded they are saved by Ryuji, Raphtalia, and the monsters Ryuji summoned.
Ryuji: "Summon" Aptonoth! Kulu-Ya-Ku!
Ryuji raised his arm and summoned Note and Grif.
Raphtalia: everyone come this way!! We'll keep you safe!!
Ryuji: okay you three, help Raphtalia
Inosuke/Note/Grif: *agreeing snort*
Raphtalia along with the three monsters began guiding and protecting the villagers on the way to the mines.
After fending off wave monsters, they reached the mines.
As more evacuees showed up to the mines Raphtalia saw the watchtower collapsing.
Raphtalia: everyone, I'm going back to the village to help Master Naofumi and Mr Ryuji! Stay close to those three and you'll be safe
Grif: *surprised squawk*
She then ran to the village to assist the two heroes.
INOSUKE POV
After the Tanuki girl left to fight the enemies, I got irritated.
Inosuke: *frustraded roar* <RAAAAAHHHH!!!>
Grif: *startled squawk* <GYAAAAAA!!> *squawking* < Why'd you suddenly roar Inosuke!? You nearly gave me a heart attack!!>
Inosuke: *irritated grunting* *growling* < I'm bored!!> *frustrated continuous roar* < Why the hell do we have to sit here and protect these humans when we could be fighting out there!!?>
Note: *grunting* <there's no helping it>
Note noticed a crying kid.
Note approached the crybaby, and made it flinched.
Note: *coo* <there, there, there's no need to be scared>
The kid stopped crying and started petting Note.
As time passed and I got more and more irritated, I felt the presence of multiple people in the forest.
Grif: *curious squawk* <do you guys hear that?>
Note: *grunting* <there are people in the forest>
Inosuke: *grunting* <I feel their gazes, but it looks like they're focusing on the Tanuki>
Wondering who those people were, a loud roar snapped us out of our thoughts.
Grif: *startled squawk* <GYAAAAHH!!> *frightened squawk*<What was that!? It sounded horrible!!>
Note: *grunting* <that sound probably came from a dangerous monster>
I ran towards the sound, getting really excited to see what was going on.
Inosuke: *excited snort* *roar* <I'm checking it out!!>
Grif: *surprised squawk* <Huh!?>
Note: *roar* <Wait, Inosuke!!>
After running for a few moments I reached a clearing where a battle was happening.
Inosuke: *excited roar* <hahahahaha!!>
3RD PERSON POV
In a clearing three of the four cardinal heroes were fighting the wave boss, a chimera.
Ren: "Crimson blade"!
Itsuki: "Wind arrow"!
Motoyasu: "Lightning spear"!
Each hero sends a powerful attack, severely damaging the chimera and it falls to the ground.
The monster weakly got back up and glared at the three heroes with each head as it let out a roar.
Ren: one more hit should do it
Motoyasu: I'll finish this!
Just as Motoyasu was about to unleash another attack, Inosuke burst onto the scene in a dust cloud, surprising everyone while grabbing the attention of the chimera.
Motoyasu: What the!?
Itsuki: another monster!?
Ren: I've never seen that in the game before!?
As the heroes and their party members are confused yet cautious, Inosuke locks eyes with the chimera and snorts excitedly.
Inosuke: *grunting* <there you are monster. Now die on the battlefield and serve as my catalyst so I can become powerful and soar to new heights!>
The three heroes looked at the Bulldrome, anticipating some kind of fight they would have to deal with.
Motoyasu: is that thing trying to talk to the boss?
Ren: it seems like it
Myne: sir Motoyasu forget about that thing and finish off the wave boss
Motoyasu: right!
Chimera: *growl*
The chimera's mouth was ablaze as it readied its fire breath to attack Inosuke.
Inosuke: *Grunting* <hope you're ready for me> *Roar* <'cause im comin', through!!>
The chimera blasted fire towards Inosuke, shocking the heroes.
Inosuke sidestepped the attack and then charged at Chimera.
The chimera stopped its breath attack hen pounced at Inosuke and then raised its paw to slash its foe with its claws.
Inosuke picked up speed and gored the chimera before it could swipe at him.
The chimera roared in pain as Inosuke lifted it in the air with his tusks and then slammed it to the ground, killing the wave boss.
Inosuke Roared triumphantly as he gained massive amounts of exp and leveled up.
Inosuke: *satisfied snort*
As the sky went back to normal, Inosuke returned to the mines, satisfied by the battle, and left the three heroes bewildered.
Motoyasu: can someone explain to me what just happened
Itsuki: I think a monster just stole our kill
Ren: I know that there are boar-type monsters, but what kind of monster was that?
Itsuki: it kind of resembles a silver boar, but it's different
Motoyasu: anyway, has anyone seen Naofumi or Ryuji?
With the heroes' first wave over, with their strange encounter with a Bulldrome, they went to collect materials from the chimera and leave Lute village.
