"Look at what I bought you." I say.
"With my own money." Anatoly adds.
"How did you know?" I ask.
"I'm observant." He states. "Also, did you really think I just happened to leave my black card in a drawer?"
"So you left it there for me to find deliberately?" I question.
"Yes, I wanted you to use it."
"Why?"
"I wanted to see what you'd buy."
"And did you?" I ask but I know the answer.
"No." He states.
"Why?"
"Because the purchase was under €10." He states. "So what did you buy?" He asks looking at the cardboard package that just arrived.
I open up the box and take the present out.
"It's a photo frame." He states. "Why would you want a photo frame?"
"It's not for me, it's for you."
"Do I look like the type of guy who owns photo frames?" He asks, motioning around to his photo-frame-less room.
"You don't have any photo frames, that's the whole point. You should at least have one photo you want to keep. You know, make your room a little more personal. You can frame a good memory and put it anywhere you'd like." I state, handing him the white bordered frame.
"Thanks." He says but he seems unsure if he really means it.
"You're welcome."
"I actually wanted to buy you something." He says.
"You did?" I ask skeptically.
He takes my hand before gently placing a kiss on the knuckles.
"Are you free today?" He asks.
"I have work at 5 but I'm free up until then."
"Good." Anatoly says with a smirk.
I narrow my eyes. "Why?"
"Because we're going out." He says pulling me along without warning.
