[CHAPTER FIVE] THE DREAM

In the previous chapter: "God, I'm so tired!" admitted Spork after the ordeal. She and Liz were walking to their respective dorms

"Yeah, you probably want to rest now"

"You're right. I'll just take a quick power nap though"

"Okay. See you!"

After Spork entered her dorm she threw herself onto her bed, grasping the purple sheets and sighing.

...

She fell asleep rather quickly but then she began to dream...

Spork was in some sort of maze, the floor looked like the night sky and loud music was playing. She ran through the maze, she didn't knew why but she felt rushed by... something, or someone.

The whole world around her was blurry and she kept running through dead ends, she could have also sworn she was hearing people laughing at her.

After a lot of running, she found a wall. It looked just like the others, but when Spork came closer to it she could make out a sentence:

"When it seems like all hope is lost after getting so close, quickly seek an emergency exit"

She didn't knew what that meant exactly but maybe there was a way out of this place?

Everything suddenly went dark as the dream came to an end.

She woke up, as someone kept knocking on her door. She opened to see Jessica

"Girl, are you okay? Master asked you to work today" she asked worried

"What time is It right now?!" "2PM"

"God, I've been sleeping for seven hours!?" Spork remarks frantically

"So you weren't sick or anything?" "No but I had a strange dream" she explained everything to her friend.

"Emergency exit...?" Jessica asked with surprise

"Yeah" the new mediator said. Jessica thought over Spork's dream, it seemed somewhat familiar to her, but then someone walked towards them

"So, you are Spork?" she asked

"Uh, yes" the blonde girl replied, feeling as she had just broke an important rule

"Come with me"

...

In the hold section...

Melody was laying on a bed, Ren set beside her while Milkshake was constructing something out of the cardboard boxes that once held the breakfast.

"Hey, are you ok?" Ren asked

"Hm, I'm just shocked about what happened this morning..." said Melody

"So is Drak like, a cannibal?" asked Milkshake, taking his eyes off his work

"I don't know. Like, he wasn't always violent and stuff but one time he did bit off Dg's arm" the girl replied

"Maybe staying locked in here for too long is driving him crazy" he continued

"I know but there's no way out!"

Then a girl with light blue hair and white glasses walked towards them "Hey, feeling better?" she asked Melody

"Hm, kinda" "It's ok. I talked to Drak earlier, he said that he felt sorry for killing that lady, and that he didn't feel quite like himself when it happened".

Ren and Milkshake were looking at her with confusion

"Oh, I didn't notice you there guys. I guess I have to introduce myself, my name is Toga"

"Nice to meet you Toga! I'm Ren" "Milkshake"

Toga sat on the bed in front of Melody's and the four of them started to chit chat.
About 30 minutes later, they head a loud noise

"Uh? What's that?" asked Ren while getting up

"Must be a new participant, let's go check" said Melody, and so they went.

On the white floor laid a man of short stature with black hair, his collar glowing yellow "What- Where am I?..." he said as his eyes were adjusting to the lighting

"Hey, is that... Space? Hey Space!" exclaimed Melody

"Melody! Toga! Where in the world are we?"

"The participants hold section-" replied Toga but someone rushed to Space, it was Viva

"Oh my god, boss! You're here too?!" she shouted with excitement

"Viva! So this is where everyone has gone, uh?" he asked

"Yeah, you should go greet all your employees"

"Wait a second..." interrupted Space "... Melody, Toga, weren't you mediators when I met you?"

Toga said "Well, I have to tell you a story, Space..."

"...When we met you, we were on our first days of begin mediators so we didn't know many things. One time we went down the elevator because we had never seen what lied at the bottom. When we saw all the participants, we were shocked: we would have never thought that this company would get away from holding so many people captive. We decided it was time to get out and tell the authorities, but as we got up with the elevator Zelnus was waiting for us."

"So he demoted you to participants?" Space concluded

"Exactly!" replied Toga

"Well that was a sad story" added Ren

"So, is there a way to actually get out?" the business man said

"You have to complete all five phases, that's the only way as of now" Viva replied

"Uh, I think we should go" whispered Milkshake to his bestie

"Yeah. I wanna meet more participants" she whispered back. The two of them walked away into the labyrinthic structure of the section

"Wait I have to check out on my masterpiece, I wouldn't want someone to steal it. You wait here" said Milkshake as he went back to the dorms.

Back to Spork and the mysterious lady, they were walking down a long dark corridor

"Uh, where exactly are we heading?" the mediator asks then they stumble upon a room with 5 doors. The lady opens the first one and there was an office inside it: the furniture was green and shiny, with stars hanging from the ceiling and not a single grain of dust to be seen.

"This must be har office" Spork tough

"Okay, sit" the other one said as she sat down her own office chair, the mediator sat on the other and they began to talk...
