"Frank, please, just stop," Gerard exclaimed as he locked eyes with the man before him. "I understand that you're my husband, but I also need to consider the feelings of my friends." Frank's response caught Gerard off guard as he watched the subtle shift in Frank's demeanor. His heart sank as Frank adopted a wounded expression. "I'm sorry if I'm being overbearing," Frank murmured. "I just worry about you, Gerard. I've seen people betray you before, and I don't want to see you get hurt again." Gerard's brow furrowed in confusion as he struggled to make sense of Frank's words. "What do you mean?" he asked. "Who betrayed me?" But Frank only shook his head, his gaze dropping to the floor as he avoided Gerard's questioning stare. "It doesn't matter," he replied softly. "Just promise me you'll be careful, okay? Promise me you won't let anyone hurt you." Despite the guilt tugging at his heartstrings, Gerard couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right about Frank's response.  "Frank, you're being too overprotective," he hissed. "I can take care of myself, you know."

Frank's expression hardened at Gerard's words, his jaw clenching with frustration. "I'm just trying to look out for you," he shot back. "I don't want to see you get hurt." But Gerard wasn't having any of it. "I appreciate your concern, but you need to trust me," he insisted. "I can handle myself, and I won't let anyone hurt me." Gerard and Frank exchanged heated words, their voices barely rising above a whisper as they attempted to keep their disagreement private. Gerard spotted a passing waiter carrying a tray of shots and without hesitation, he reached out and grabbed two glasses. Before Frank could react, Gerard lifted one of the shots to his lips and knocked it back in one swift motion. The fiery liquid burned its way down his throat. Frank's eyes widened in alarm as he reached out to stop Gerard, but it was too late. Gerard quickly downed the second shot and as he lowered the empty glasses, Gerard shot Frank a defiant look, daring him to say something. "I don't understand why you're being so stubborn," Frank muttered. "I'm just trying to protect you, Gerard. Can't you see that?"

But Gerard shook his head, his own frustration boiling over. "I don't need your protection," he insisted. "I can take care of myself, Frank. I wish you would just trust me." Frank's brow furrowed in exasperation as he struggled to make Gerard see reason. "I do trust you," he replied. "But I can't shake this feeling that something bad is going to happen, and I don't want to see you get hurt." Gerard's jaw clenched as he fought to control his tempe. "I appreciate your concern, I really do," he said. "But you need to understand that I need to live my own life, make my own choices. I can't let you dictate everything I do." As Frank continued to voice his concerns, Gerard's frustration bubbled to the surface once more. Without a word, he reached out and swiftly snagged another drink from a passing waiter. Frank's eyes widened in alarm as he watched Gerard take the drink. "Gerard, what are you doing?" he exclaimed. "You shouldn't be drinking like that." But Gerard ignored him as he brought the glass to his lips and downed the contents in one swift motion.

Frank's concern only deepened as he watched Gerard's actions, his brow furrowing. "Gerard, please," he pleaded, reaching out to gently touch Gerard's arm. "You don't need to do this. Let's talk about this like adults." But Gerard shook his head. "I'm tired of talking," he muttered. "I just want to forget about everything for a while." With that, he turned away from Frank, his eyes scanning the room for another distraction. As the effects of the alcohol began to take hold, Gerard's inhibitions faded away, replaced by a boldness he hadn't felt before. He turned to Frank, a playful smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Hey there, handsome," he slurred, his words slightly slurred as he leaned in closer to Frank. "You know, you're looking pretty good tonight." Frank's eyes widened in surprise at Gerard's sudden change in demeanor, a faint blush creeping into his cheeks. "Gerard, what are you doing?" he whispered. But Gerard paid him no mind, his attention solely focused on Frank as he continued to flirt shamelessly. "Come on, Frank," he teased, reaching out to lightly brush his fingers against Frank's arm. "Don't pretend like you don't enjoy a little attention."
