"I'm exhausted," Gerard admitted. "I just want to go home." Frank's expression softened at Gerard's words, a flicker of concern crossing his features. "Of course, my love," he replied. "Let me take care of you." With a tenderness that took Gerard by surprise, Frank wrapped an arm around his shoulders, guiding him towards the door. As they stepped out into the cool night air, Gerard felt a sense of relief wash over him when Frank whispered words of reassurance in his ear. This Frank reminded Gerard of the side of him that he had always loved, the caring and compassionate man who had captured his heart from the very beginning. With gentle hands, Frank helped Gerard settle into the passenger seat of the car, adjusting the seatbelt to ensure his comfort. As they sat side by side in the vehicle, Frank reached out to brush a stray strand of hair from Gerard's forehead. "Are you comfortable?" Frank asked and Gerard nodded, a small smile gracing his lips. "Yes, thank you," he replied.

"Gerard, let me text your Mother," Frank suggested gently, reaching for Gerard's phone. "She'll worry if she sees your puffy eyes." Gerard hesitated for a moment. "Okay," he murmured, handing his phone over to Frank and Frank composed a message to Donna, lying to her that Gerard's friend needed help and it was emergency. As he typed, Gerard couldn't help but marvel at the way Frank seamlessly slipped into the role of protector, shielding him from the prying eyes of his family. "There," Frank said, hitting send and placing the phone back in Gerard's hand. "That should put her mind at ease." Gerard offered Frank a small smile, his heart fluttering at the sight of Frank. As Frank started the car and pulled away from the curb, Gerard leaned against his arm, seeking solace in his comforting presence. The warmth of Frank's touch sent a shiver of comfort down Gerard's spine, easing the tension that had coiled tightly within him throughout the day.

Frank glanced down at Gerard, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Are you feeling okay?" he asked and Gerard nodded. "I'm just tired," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "But being with you makes it better." Frank's smile widened at Gerard's words. "I'm glad I can help," he replied softly, his gaze never leaving the road ahead. As they continued on their journey home, Gerard closed his eyes and allowed himself to relax. "Frank, do you mind if I call Mikey?" Gerard asked softly. "I need to know if he's told anyone about us." Frank glanced at Gerard, his expression unreadable for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Of course, go ahead," he replied and with trembling hands, Gerard dialed Mikey's number, his heart pounding in his chest as he waited for his friend to pick up. After a few rings, Mikey's voice came through the line. "Hey, Gee, is everything okay?" Mikey asked and Gerard took a deep breath. "Mikey, have you told anyone about Frank and I?" he blurted out, unable to keep the desperation from his voice. There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line, and Gerard held his breath, waiting for Mikey's response. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Mikey spoke.

"No, Gerard, I haven't told anyone," Mikey replied firmly. "Your secret is safe with me." Relief flooded through Gerard at Mikey's words, a weight lifting from his shoulders. "Thank you, Mikey," he said, his voice choked. "I appreciate it more than you know." As he hung up the phone, Gerard felt a sense of gratitude wash over him, knowing that he had a friend like Mikey who would always have his back. And as he turned to Frank, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. His gaze drifted to Frank's profile, quietly observing the man beside him. Despite everything that had transpired, he couldn't bring himself to hate Frank or to unlove him. It was as if Frank was a part of him, a piece of his soul that he couldn't live without. As Frank's eyes remained focused on the road ahead, Gerard found himself captivated by the subtle nuances of his features—the way his lips curved into a faint smile, the furrow of his brow as he concentrated on the task at hand. It wasn't just Frank's physical attractiveness that drew Gerard in, but every aspect of his being. Gerard's admiration for Frank only grew stronger, his heart swelling with a love that defied logic and reason.
