*TW: Non Consensual Act*

A week later, the Ways attended a charity feast event at the church and Gerard opted to join with his bandmates instead of his parents, a decision they allowed. Seated at the same table with Mikey, Ray, Dan and Bert, they engaged in lively conversations, laughter punctuating the air. They joked and laughed, sharing stories and memories as they indulged in the delicious spread laid out before them. Bert regaled the group with tales of his love for muffins, his animated gestures eliciting laughter from his friends. "I'm telling you, guys, there's nothing like a good muffin to brighten your day," he declared. Ray, Dan, and Mikey chimed in with their own anecdotes, each one more hilarious than the last. They teased and joked with one another. Amidst the laughter and jovial banter of his friends, Gerard remained unusually quiet, his usual cheerful demeanor replaced by a somber silence. His friends, noticing the change in his behavior, exchanged concerned glances, their smiles fading as they realized that something was amiss. "Hey, Gerard, you've been pretty quiet today," Mikey observed, his brow furrowing with concern. "Is everything okay?"

Gerard didn't reply to Mikey's question, his mind lost in his thoughts until Ray nudged him gently, bringing him back to the present moment. "Hey, Gerard, you okay?" Ray asked as he looked at his friend and Gerard blinked, his gaze refocusing on the group gathered around him. "Huh? Oh, yeah, sorry," he mumbled, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I guess I just got lost in thought for a moment there." Ray offered him a sympathetic smile. "It's okay, man," he said reassuringly. "We all have those days. Just know that we're here for you if you need to talk about anything." Gerard nodded. "Thanks, Ray," he said softly and with a reassuring pat on the back, Ray turned back to the conversation, seamlessly picking up where they had left off. Among all his friends, Gerard was particularly close to Mikey. They shared a bond that went beyond friendship, almost like brothers. Mikey could sense that something was wrong with Gerard, as they had a deep understanding of each other.

Mikey glanced at Gerard, noting the distant look in his friend's eyes and the tension that seemed to radiate from his body. "Hey, Gerard," Mikey said softly, leaning in closer to his friend. "Is everything okay? You seem kind of... off today." Gerard hesitated for a moment, his gaze shifting away from Mikey's concerned expression. He knew that he could trust Mikey with anything, but the thought of revealing his secret relationship with Frank filled him with a sense of dread. "Yeah, I'm fine," Gerard replied, forcing a weak smile. "Just... you know, got some stuff on my mind, that's all." Mikey frowned, sensing that Gerard was holding something back. "Come on, Gerard, you can tell me," he urged. "You know I'm always here for you, right?" Gerard swallowed hard. "Yeah, I know," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. "Gerard, come with me," Mikey said as he stood up from the table and Gerard looked up, surprised by Mikey's sudden request. "Where are we going?" he asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.

"Just trust me," Mikey replied, offering Gerard a reassuring smile. "I think you need some fresh air." Gerard nodded silently, trusting his friend's intuition and Mikey led Gerard outside the church, away from the bustling activity of the charity feast event. As they stepped out into the cool evening air, Gerard couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over him. "Gerard, seriously, what's going on?" Mikey asked as he turned to face his friend and Gerard hesitated, his gaze fixed on the ground as he struggled to find the words to explain. "It's... nothing, Mikey," he said softly and Mikey reached out to place a hand on Gerard's shoulder. "You can tell me anything, Gerard," he said gently. "I'm not going to judge you, I just want to help." Gerard shook his head. "I know, Mikey, and I appreciate that," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. "But there are some things... some things that I can't talk about, not even with you." Mikey's brow furrowed with concern as he studied his friend's troubled expression. "But why, Gerard? What's so bad that you can't even tell me?" Gerard sighed, his shoulders slumping with defeat. "It's just... complicated," he repeated. "There are things... things that I'm not ready to talk about yet. Maybe someday, but not now."
