"So you now find a partner and we will go on the boats for a small trip around the lake. Come on now, quickly." one of the lady in charge of taking care of us at the camp said.

I looked around, I didn't know anyone here. My parents had convinced me to go to a camp that summer and I had agreed because according to the picture in the brochure, it really looked cool.

But that was until I arrived and saw that a lot of the kids here, had already been there before and they all had their own friends and repairs around the camp. It had been the real first day and I looked around as the woman asked to find a partner.

All the girls were already paired up and whenever I tried to talk to someone I felt really out of place. That was until someone tapped my shoulder.

"Hey do you want to team up?" the guy asked, he looked to be my age, he had glasses and braces, he had nice blue eyes behind his thick glasses. He looked nervous, and honestly I understood him. I smiled at him and saw that there were also no guys left to pair up with him, so I nodded smiling.

"Yes, that would be nice." I said, and he instantly smiled, the nervousness between us, dissipating. He hand out his hand for me to shake and I did just that.

"Great! I'm Harry by the way." he said all enthusiastic,

"I'm Maggie, nice to meet you." I said, we stayed there talking together until we climbed inside our boat.

That was the first day of camp, and the rest of the month there was no different. We stayed glued to one another for the whole summer. We talked all day, read books together under a tree, went to swim in the lake together. The only time being apart was when we would go to bed.

That summer proved to be the best summer of my life, it was great, freeing and I really could see myself come here every summer I could, if Harry would be there to share those summers with me.

And as the end of the summer approached, and the last day came by, I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Harry, but I was hopeful that I would eventually see him maybe during the Christmas break. We had talked about how we would ask our parents to maybe do something together for that holiday, but in any case I knew that I would see Harry next summer, and we could always write and call via video or text.

Meeting Harry had awoken in me a slight crush, I mean he was cute, he was funny and we understood each other completely. I knew I was too young to know about love but I knew that maybe when we would be older we could probably be together or something.

I mean the butterflies I would feel whenever he would say my name or laugh at something I had said would make me smile the goofiest smile ever. And even if I didn't know if he liked me like I had grown to like him, I knew we had a great friendship.

So when Harry came to say goodbye, and informed me that we wouldn't be able to see each other again, I experienced my first heartbreak, almost at the same time that I had experienced my first big crush.
