You and Cairo had a scheduled study hang in the cafeteria after hours. Other than her being your best friend, you were happy to spend more time with her, especially since your feelings have gotten more intense lately.

Cairo walked into the cafeteria, books in hand, headed to the table where you were seated. After approaching the table, she sat down across from you. You were always one able to read her and catch what vibe she was giving off but in that moment, you weren't too sure this time.
She seemed uninterested, if you were to describe.
"Class was intense today, huh?" You awkwardly chuckled, "But I'm glad you were able to make it."
Cairo wasn't even listening and it wasn't you, it was because her attention was towards the door —— towards Jonathan, her teacher.
To say you were only a little jealous would be an understatement. You had a thing for your best friend and it killed you that she never looks at you the she looks at Jonathan.
Cairo finally came out of her trance and shifted her attention back to you, "What were you saying?"
You just shook your head with a light sigh escaping your lips, "Nothing." You just continued to go through your notes, thinking about all your what if questions.
