The four walked through the halls, Clary and Magnolia in the rear. Clary stops leaning against the wall, breathing heavily.
"I'm sorry, Jace." Clary said "It's okay, we can take a breather." Jace said
"No, it's not that. I'm-" She said staring at the the two brunettes
"I guess we'll scout ahead." Izzy said "Or we leave them and go to the Institute." Magnolia mumbled
Izzy looked at her shaking her head, pulling Magnolia down the hall. The two walked deeper down the halls, stopping in an open area.
"Guys, it's pulsing." Izzy said
"That is not good." Magnolia said
"Again?" Clary asked
"It's getting close. Let's spread out." Izzy said
"Magnolia, use your magic lightly, they can't track you that way." Jace said "You seem to know a lot about Warlocks, nough said." Magnolia said
She placed her hands together, twisting them opposite directions before turning them back. The green wisps flashing out of her palms, her eyes shifting into the green cat eyes. The four look around, on guard. "Izzy, where is it?" Jace asked
"I don't know." Izzy said "Nolia?" He asked
"I can't pinpoint." She said
"It's like they're right here but I don't see them." Izzy said
The sounds of growling came from different directions as one flew from the air ducts, landing on Jace, Clary let out a scream. Clary looked absolutely distraught at the sight of the demon, Jace pulled it from himself, slicing it into two, it disintegrated. "Are you hurt?" Clary asked
"I'll live." Jace said "What are those things?" Clary asked
"Shax Demons." Jace said "They're like the bloodhounds of the Shadow World." Magnolia said
"They're been tracking us." Izzy said
"So what do we do?" Clary asked
"The Institute's only a few blocks from here. We can't lose them but they won't be able to track us if we split up." Jace said "Jace, I-- I can't." Clary said "Clary, you'll be fine. Izzy and I will draw them away. You and Magnolia get to the Institute. No matter what happens, just keep running." Jace said "Wait? I won't be able to get into the Institute." Magnolia said
"You can and you will." Jace said "They're coming." Izzy said "Jace, I-" Clary said "Clary, Run!" Magnolia yelled grabbing her arm
Clary and Magnolia ran down different halls, running from the screeches of the demons.
"I wore the wrong shoes." Magnolia huffed
Clary led her down a long hallway, turning running straight into a gated wall, Magnolia turned to see both sides were gated and locked. "Shit, Clary." Magnolia said
