Magnolia was interrupted by the sound of footsteps racing into the room, she turned mid-cast seeing Jace and Izzy, distress written on their faces. The two quickly explained their plan to the warlock.

"Let me get this straight. You need Alec's stele to open the safe, and you want me to steal it from him? Seriously?!" Magnolia asked

"We prefer the word "Borrow." Jace said
"Without his knowledge." Izzy said

"No, what? Not happening." Magnolia said walking off

"Magnolia, ever since Alec found out our parents were in the circle, he's been messed up. He can't see the big picture." Jace said
"Maybe it's because your parents had made him feel like he needs to be better, the best even and then he found out this. I get why he's pissed." Magnolia said
"If the Clave is willing to subject Meliorn to the Silent Brothers, if they're willing to go this far...what do you think will happen if they get the cup? This affects everyone." Izzy said
Magnolia stared at Izzy, seeing the pain in her eyes.
"Help us get into the safe. Help us stop this." Jace said

Magnolia looked to the floor before looking at Jace.

"I can't do this for free, you both owe me. I'm talking good, like first editions, new wardrobe, the works and Alec can never know." Magnolia said

"That's a given." Jace said

"If we're going to do this... there's not turning back." Magnolia said

Magnolia walked over to the office, a stressed look on her face. She didn't want to do this but they needed to protect the cup. She closed her eyes, calming herself before she waved her hand opening a window, looking into the office spotting Alec, rebandaging his arm. She huffed before snapping, waiting for the text from Jace. Finally the text arrived, she snapped quickly before closing the window. She placed her hands down acting as if she finished the wards.

"And that should do it. I thought I'd see how you were doing." Magnolia said

Alec turned to her, their eyes meeting.

"I meant to thank you for your advice. The whole "follow your heart" thing." Alec said
"Well what can I say? I have some understanding of human emotions. At least that's what people always told me." Magnolia said a smirk

"I'm getting married." Alex announced

Magnolia stared back at him, her smirk falling, her stomach dropping.

"Whoa, um-that's sudden um-okay um..." she stuttered

"Magnolia, family is everything to me. You have to know that." Alec said

She looked to her feet avoiding eye contact.

"I get it, you're part of a "do what I gotta do" society. I understand. I'm happy for you." Magnolia huffed

"It makes sense, Lydia and I, it's a solid partnership for both of us." Alec said

"Solid partnership?" She asked
He nodded.

"Congratulations. She's really lucky." She said

She stepped forward and stared up to him, placing her hand on his cheek.

"I guess time wasn't in our favor." Magnolia whispered

"Lia." Alec said
"Goodbye Alexander." She choked

She walked away from him, not turning back as she made her way off to finish off the wards before collecting her payment. Alec watched as she went, not knowing the disarray she felt.

Magnolia finished her final ward, finally taking a breath. She walked into Lydia's office, she looked up, spotting the warlock.
"Magnolia Bane, how I've wanted to meet you." Lydia said
Magnolia squinted her eyes, confused.

"What do you mean? Don't you mean my dad? The High Warlock." Magnolia asked

"Well I would like to meet your father one day, High Warlock of Brooklyn but his right hand, his daughter, a woman. I show my utmost respect." Lydia said

"Well thank you, I'm here for my payment so I may leave." Magnolia said

"Of course." Lydia said
She kindly paid the warlock, shaking her hand. Magnolia turned walking toward the door, stopping.

"Congratulations on the engagement by the way. You're a lucky woman, Alec is a really good guy." Magnolia said avoiding eye contact

"Thank you." Lydia said

Magnolia turned walking out of the office, making her way to the front doors, opening a portal. She closed her eyes before walking through, ending back up at her apartment. She stood in the middle of the apartment, her breath caught in her throat before dropping her purse and coat onto the floor, racing down the hall into a dark, stone room. She closed the doors, sealing them before securing the room. After all the precautions were taken, she finally let it out. The echoes of her blood-curdling scream shook the room, the stone cracking, dust flying everywhere.

Magnolia's eyes cracked open, a bright light blinding her. She wondered if she was dead because this is not how she pictured the other side. She sat up seeing she was still in the room at the apartment. She stood up from the dusty ground, dusting herself off slightly. She released the seals, walking out of the room down to hers. She took a long shower, wearing her robe. She walked out to the living room, poured a glass of wine, chugging it. She shuffled to her room, falling to sleep.
