Dragonstone

"Why does your dragon hate me?", he asked Aemma, watching in the corner of his eyes those judgy bronze colored ones that wouldn't stop staring

"I don't know Jace, it is not like I whisper bad things about you to him", Aemma mocked. Vermithor wagged his tail, draggin it on the ground, catching his legs and making the prince trip and fall backwards

"Vermithor!", she called, "I'm so sorry Jace!"

"I told you", he managed to stand up, taking a few steps backwards, "he hates me!"

"He is just a baby", she defended

"He is a hundred years old!", he laughed. He draws a tired sigh, "when are you coming back?", he asked

"A fortnight", she said gently. And Jace walks away, his intentions frustrated again. He had tried so hard to get close to Aemma, but the girl - or her dragon- just wouldn't let him, even though she was obligated to travel back and forth to Dragonstone to meet her betrothed, her mind was only occupied with thoughts of a silver haired one-eye prince. Poor Jace it wasn't his fault, but with him it was everything so tense, so mandatory... She just celebrated her sixteenth birthday, she couldn't hold her betrothal any longer, she knew it, everyone knew it

"You are mean", she growled to his dragon snout, but wouldn't quit petting him. Vermithor purred under her soft hands

Now with Aemond and his own betrothal it was a thing of beauty. Not even Daemon wanted to marry his daughter, so he managed to find every possible reason to postpone it, and everyone let him. They had been of age for two years already.

Alicent kept fighting it as well, but to no avail. In her mind, she was waiting for Aemma to be of age, this is the wait they would be doing anyways. Still nothing was lost.

She walked into the common room of the Castle, where the family stood. Rhaenyra looked at her and smiled softly

"My dear Aemma", she whispered, holding her hands in hers

"I must return to King's Landing", she said softly, "I'll be back in a fortnight"

"I hope that with your maiden cape ready", she said with a certain intensity in her eyes. Aemma nodded
