As the blacksmith pleads for mercy, offering himself as a slave in exchange for his children's safety, his desperate plea only serves to further enrage the already incensed gang members. One of them, consumed by anger, aims a crossbow directly at the blacksmith's eyes, poised to deliver a lethal blow.

Gangster: don't say a fucking word or I'll put this arrow between your eye-

Amidst the chaos, the gang members are taken aback as their comrade collapses to the ground, his head crushed by an unseen force. Panic ensues as more gang members meet the same fate, falling one by one to the mysterious assailant. In a futile attempt to retaliate, the remaining gang members unleash a barrage of crossbow bolts towards the invisible force, only to watch in astonishment as the arrows deflect harmlessly off its unseen barrier.

Gangster: *thinking the attacker is a wizard* show yourself you fucking wizard, don't make me use this.

Recognizing the dire situation, one of the gang members retrieves a small box containing a glowing crystal. It becomes apparent to Nano that this is a magic inhibitor, a device designed to neutralize magical abilities within a certain range and duration, its effectiveness dictated by the quality of the crystal. Such inhibitors are highly coveted and strictly regulated, typically reserved for military use due to their exorbitant cost and illegal status for civilian possession.

Given that magic and electricity operate on distinct principles, the inhibitor fails to affect Nano's electronic systems. Seizing this advantage, Nano decides to reveal itself by deactivating its stealth camo, thereby creating the illusion that the gangster has emerged victorious.

Gangster: huh? A golem? Whatever, I don't care if you use magic or not, now that you're defenseless, I and the rest of my g-

With a swift and unexpected motion, Nano forms a third arm and launches three knives towards three of the remaining gangsters, incapacitating them in an instant. The sudden attack leaves the last remaining gangster trembling with fear, realizing the dire situation they now face.

Gangster: h-how? HOW?

Nano: go tell whoever your boss is to see me here at midnight.

As the terrified gang member flees, his fear palpable and his pants soaked with urine, Nano watches him disappear into an alley, beyond its view range.Meanwhile, the commotion has drawn the attention of nearby guards, prompting their investigation of the scene. However, Nano remains indifferent to their presence, its focus instead fixed on the distraught blacksmith and his children mourning beside their mother's lifeless body.In a surprising turn of events, Nano experiences an unfamiliar sensation stirring within it, a peculiar sensation reminiscent of human emotions. Despite its systems indicating no malfunctions, Nano recognizes the feeling as something akin to sadness—an emotion foreign to its mechanical nature. Unsettled by this newfound sentiment, Nano decides to depart the scene before the guards arrive, eager to distance itself from these unfamiliar and uncomfortable sensations.

A ruined building at Ellis street

The only gangster left alive reaches a ruined building and gets inside, in the kitchen, he opens a trapdoor and gets into the basement, where other gangsters look at him with confusion, then he yells with a frightened voice he needs to see "white fang". The guards take him to white fang, a man in his 30's and a well cared beard who's been bathed by Childs with less or no clothes, with a boy not older than 11, cleaning white fang's bed, changing the bed sheets, recently covered in blood and sweat.

Gangster: white fang! I- i have urgent news.

White fang: relax kid, take some water and explain everything.
