"Mom, where are my black and gray sneakers?" My son shouted from his room.

"They're down here, Aiden. Hurry up!"

"I'm coming, how do I look?" he nervously asked.

"You look great, my baby is growing up on me." I sighed.

"Mom!" he complained.

"I know, I know. Did you grab your inhaler?"

"Don't need it, but it's in my pocket. Okay, what's gonna happen?" he asked.

"Dori said that we're going in through the back and she'll meet us there. She's gonna do her best so that no cameras are on us but there's no guarantee. We'll be in our seats most of the night so you can see the show but she'll let us know when we can hang with her backstage." I told him as I locked up.

"Your girlfriend is the best." He smiled.

My son knows that Dori and I are dating. I've always been bisexual and I talked to his dad when he was around eight years old about how he wanted to handle this and when I should bring it up. I had dated women and men before talking to my son but none of them met him. My ex is the best, supportive co-parent I could've asked for. He helped me not feel guilty and was with me when I told my son. He helped me answer all of Aiden's questions without being judgemental at all.

He had also supported my relationship with Dori since I introduced them. Brian met my girlfriend before our son did, just like I met his now wife before our son did. We are really good friends, hell Brian was with me when Aiden and Dori met too. I don't know what I would do without Brian in our lives.

Dori is a professional wrestler and she currently works for the AEW brand under the name Ruby Soho. When we met, I wasn't the biggest wrestling fan but I had watched it in passing with the boys and enjoyed it at that time. Her being who she is made her the coolest person to Aiden. She's also just the nicest human being I know.

D had mentioned bringing us to a show but I argued against it because she wanted to pay for the tickets and I didn't want her to think I was taking advantage of her. I've taken Aiden to a few shows, just not front seats cause that's just not in the budget. She insisted on getting us front-seat tickets for Aiden's birthday and this once, I relented, not that Aiden knows. She even got me a ticket for Brian to come with us. The friendship between the two of them makes my heart happy.

"Dad! Are you ready?" Aiden asked when Brian got out of his car.

"So ready, come on 11 year old. Hey Emily." Brian said, kissing my cheek.

"Hey you, how's Anna feeling?" I asked when he opened my door.

"Very pregnant and very happy to get me out of the house." He replied while opening the door for Aiden.

"She getting tired of you driving her crazy." Aiden smiled when his dad cuffed him on the back of the head.

"Boy if you don't shut ... I'm not driving her crazy." He complained before closing both of our doors.

"You're hovering again." I laughed when he got in the car. "She's okay, Bri." I know this because she begged me to get him out of their house.

"That hospital stay scared the hell out of me." He admitted.

"I know and she knows, you're a good dad and a good husband. You both just need some space, you haven't left the house since she got out last week. This is good for both of you."

"Yeah Dad, let her breathe." Aiden said.

"I will kick your ass kid." Brian grumbled.

We occasionally have family dates just the three of us but not in a while. Anna, his wife, has been having some pregnancy-related health issues and Aiden told him to focus on Anna. He even goes over and spends time with them. I've driven Anna to appointments too. Brian and I were high school sweethearts and we were best friends. We matured together and only wanted the best for one another. However I can help them, I will.
