Jake's POV
The night before the gala
It's been about a month since Mingi gave me the offer and there has been no word from her. Until now, that is.
I had just gotten back to the small hotel room when my phone stared to ring.The second I picked up an angry female burst through the tiny speakers.
"I thought I told you to stay low!Where in that instruction did you get 'Go to her hotel room and confront her'!" I wince and try to calm her down "Hey, just chill out alright? I just went over there to have a chat between two old friends."
That was technically the truth. Earlier today, I had stopped by Alex's hotel to ask a question that had been burning in my mind since the night she caught me.
Why did she leave me?
I mean like, it really wasn't that big of a deal. I only cheated on her for a month, which isn't that long, and not only that but we were only dating so it doesn't really count. It's only actually cheating if you are married, and we were far from that.
Alex just told me to go away and leave her alone. I tried to make her answer the question but before I can say to words Rae showed up out of nowhere with her shoe in hand and threatened to beat me if I don't get out of the hotel
I never liked Rae. She always tried to convince Alex to leave me, saying that 'I was too controlling' and 'our relationship is not healthy.' She always tried to go out with Alex and keep her away from me.
Mingi's voice going on and on about who knows what brings me back to the present.Finally she sighed and said "Alright, well there was another reason I called you. It's time. Tomorrow night there is a gala that Kai is attending and obviously Alex is his date."
I hum in acknowledgement and she continues. " I will also be going and you will accompany me. I will send you the tux you have to wear. Be ready at 7, understand?" "Yes ma'am" I say and add a little salute even though she can't see me. She puts down the phone without saying goodbye.
I put my phone on the counter and go to shower. As I'm showering I smirk as a thought comes into my mind.
You're mine Alex Vada, whether you like it or not.

Alex's POV:
"- and then she threatened him with her shoe and luckily he'd left." Kai kissed my temple and said "I'm sorry that happened angel" We were in a park with a beautiful river flowing through it, having a picnic. I was sitting in-between his legs and he had his arms around me and his chin on my shoulder. I shrugged and said, "It's alright, there was nothing you could really do about it anyway.
He hums and buries his head in my neck. I lay my head on his and we sit in silence for a couple minutes, letting the sounds of the children playing and the river flowing next to us, before I blurted out three life changing words.
"I love you"
Kai stiffens behind me and takes his head out of my neck. I panic and proceed to ramble "I-I know it's all of a sudden a-and I understand if it's too soon and you don't feel the same way and-" My ramblings are cut of by lips on mine.
Kai kisses me hard and I kiss him back. We pulled apart and when I opened my eyes and found a big goofy smile on his face. He put his forehead against mine and repeated my own words. "I love you too" He pulled back and peppers my entire face with tiny kisses before finally landing on my lips again.
When he finishes his attack I say, "B-but you really think it's not to soon?" He looks at me softly and says, "Absolutely not. Love doesn't have a time table sweetheart. It doesn't matter if we've been together for 3 years or three months. The feelings just swoops in no matter how long it's been."
By the end of Kai's little speech I was on the verge of tears. He held me close and for those moments everything was perfect
Little did I know it would come to an end just a couple days later.
