We, the guardians of the night;

The protectors of the sleep-time hours.
We watch while others dream. We check when others are resting.
We pick up the fallen,
Wash the unclean.
We rescue the wandering,
The seen and unseen.
Guardian over night terrors and fear,
We hold the hands of the night stars for you.
We, who trade sweet dreams for flashlights and halls.
We, go unnoticed until those needful calls.
We stave the hunger and thirst through the night, when morning arrives we take flight.
But never you worry, while tucked snug in your bed,
We, the guardians of the night will be there instead.
