Harry slowly opens his eyes to see that Louis no longer sits on the couch. He sits up quickly. He looks to the television to see that the news is now broadcasting. He stands and walks clumsily to the front window. Louis isn't out there either. Oh no, could he have left? He panics for a few more moments, before he hears soft snores coming from his room. He walks into his room, and finds Louis sleeping on his bed. He looks adorable, so small in comparison the big bed. Harry gives a fond smile as makes his way back to the kitchen. He figures that Louis will probably be hungry after his nap, plus it is dinner time. So Harry decides to order some pizza. He would cook, but he's still a bit groggy from his nap.
He waits for the pizza, by cleaning up Louis' empty glass and the blanket and plate he left outside. He puts everything in its place before the doorbell rings. He opens the door, takes the two pizzas and pays the man. He turns and see's Louis in the hall.
"Oh good you're awake. I figured you would be hungry, so I ordered us some pizza." He tells Louis as he walks to the kitchen. Louis follows behind him. Harry grabs a couple slices and puts them on two plates. He places one plate in front of him and the other on the opposite side. "Here you go. Come take a seat, don't be shy." Louis slowly makes his way to the table. He sits down and studies the pizza. At such a close proximity, Harry can see just how blue Louis' eyes are. He watches as Louis leans down to sniff the pizza. Now that they are so close, Harry notices them. Sticking out of Louis' head are two gray kitten ears. He gasps. Louis is a hybrid. Hybrids aren't uncommon, but they're rarities for people like Harry. Hybrids are reserved for the rich, the people who can afford to own such a classy pet. Louis hears Harry's gasp and looks up. Realization dawns on Louis and he stands up, prepared to run. Harry quickly goes after him. Louis is having a hard time opening the door. That gives Harry an advantage; he surges forward and places both his hands on the door around Louis' head. Louis whimpers, scared that Harry might hurt him. He can see Louis tail, now exposed, between his legs.
"Louis' please don't leave. I don't care that you're a hybrid. You're still a person, who's now part cat. Please stay. Come back, sit down, and eat, so we can talk yeah?" Harry asks. Louis hesitates, before he's making his way back with Harry. "So you're a hybrid." Harry confirms. Louis nods, still looking down. "Aren't you a long way from home." He asks. He practically lives on the other side of where the rich and wealthy reside. Louis nods. He figures that was about as much as Louis would tell him, but then Louis actually talks.
"Louis was adopted. Louis and Liam were adopted by couple. Couple let us go. Said we were free. Liam and Louis walked long time. Liam say he tired. Sit in dark place. Liam say he go find food. Liam never come back. Louis left when man yelled at him. Louis found bed thing outside. Sleep there until Liam find Louis." He explained. It was a bit hard to follow, but he understood. Some Liam dude, who was also a hybrid, left Louis to fend for himself. He didn't want to give the hybrid false hope, but he needed to.
"Look you can't stay outside forever, how about you stay here, while you wait for Liam." He tried hoping this time Louis would agree. "It's warmer and nicer in here. You can stay in the guest room. I can make sure you're being well treated." Louis seemed to think about it. Louis knew that he didn't like the cold. He also knew that the curly haired man seemed way nicer than anyone he's ever met, not counting Liam. He figured he might as well stay; he had nowhere else to go.
"Ok. Can Louis know name?" Louis questioned. Harry smiled, glad that the cute cat hybrid agreed.
"Harry. Now how about you finish eating, and I go fix up the guest room." Harry gets up and goes to prepare the room. When he's done, he comes back in to the kitchen to find Louis sitting in his seat, no more pizza on his plate, looking down at his lap. "Are you done?" He inquires. Louis looks up, his face covered in tomato sauce. Harry giggles and grabs a napkin. "I'm going to clean you up." He dabbed the napkin at the sauce, removing it with ease. He smiled down at Louis when he was done. Louis blushed. Harry checks the time and sees it's getting pretty late.
"I'm going to take a shower. How about you watch some more tv, while you wait. Then after I can show you to your room?" He asks. Louis nods and they make their way to the living room. Harry looks for another animated movie, Finding Nemo was on, and so he left it there before he went to take his shower.
As the warm water hit his skin, Harry couldn't help but wonder about this Liam character. What could have happened to him? He figures that Liam probably didn't just leave Louis seeing as he accompanied him the moment the left the adoption center. If he had wanted to leave, he would've done it before. But then what could have happened to him? Whatever happened, he really hopes that he's alright.
He finishes his shower and dries himself off. He dresses into some comfortable pajamas, before he makes his way back to the living room. Louis was already curled up like earlier, sleeping. Harry gives a warm smile and decides he'd rather not wake Louis. He moves closer and scoops the boy in his arms. He hopes Louis won't find it too weird. Louis curls into Harry's chest, letting himself be carried. Harry carries him to the guest room and gently sets him down. He tucks him in and then he's off to his own bed.
That night Harry has many thoughts on his mind. He wonders what will come of having the hybrid live with him. He realizes that it requires responsibility, but he's willing to do it. After all, he did ask for a friend.
