Face Off

All Night Long KS couldn't sleep, she was just tossing and turning around in bed thinking about everything and all the beautiful memories she shared with HM and then the betrayal.
The clouds of self doubt and uncertainty were spreading all across her heart and mind and unknowingly a trail of fresh tears started rolling down her cheeks, she just wanted the night to be over asap but every minute seemed like an eternity..
She was just lying down in bed mindlessly looking at the fan, today even the walls of her room were suffocating her...
She didn't know what to do or what to feel or what to think or say...
She wiped her tears off and came out in the balcony to grab some fresh air, she took out a box of cigarettes from her pocket, looked at it a bit doubtfully and then threw it away..
A few minutes later, she took another one out of the box and placed it between her lips with quivering hands and emptiness in her eyes,as she was about to light it up a sudden voice totally startled her..
SS: Karishma Maddam...Aap soyi nahi abhi tak..
Before SS could notice KS quickly threw the cigarette away and hid the lighter& the box of cigarettes..

KS(without looking back): Arey Santu, tum soyi nahi abhi tak...
SS came near her and offered her a bottle of water," So hi gayi thi bas paani peene aayi thi tab aap yaha khadi dikhi, magar aap soyi nahi ab tak raat ka 3 baj Gaya hai."
KS: Haan wo nind nahi aa raha tha, toh socha fresh air le lein..bas ja hi rahe the hum sone..
SS(looked at her with concern): Aap theek hain Maddam??
KS(Chuckels a bit): Arey Haan Haan humko ka hoga, hum ekdum chaukas..
SS: Jhuth mat boliye, mujhe nahi pata kya hua ya kya baat hai jo aapko itna pareshan kar rahi hai but aap theek toh bilkul bhi nahi hain..
KS: Arey Tum ka baat kar rahi ho..hum bilkul theek hain..
SS: Accha..tabhi aap yaha khade hokar cigarette peene ja rahi thi, aur jaise hi apne meri awaaz suni apne fek di
KS looks down in embarrassment..
KS: Santu wo hum....
SS: It's okay I don't judge you and you don't have to explain as well I know u smoke and not only smoke but also drink..
KS(looks at her with amusement): Acchaa... tumhe kaise pata..
SS: Maddam main Masoom hun, Gadhi Nahi..I mean it's pretty basic..
KS(with raised eyebrows): Acchaa...basic..kaise??

Hearing this KS looked at her with wide eyes...
SS: Chill maine Pushpee ko nahi bataya hai, waise unhe Shak toh hai aap pe poora poora, par maine, "The Santosh Sharma" ne kabhi unko nahi bataya, warna wo toh iss chakkar mein hain ki kab unko apke khilaaf saboot mile aur kab wo apke "Bhaukaal"ka " Bhau" alag aur "Kaal" alag kare..
KS was drinking water and hearing this she literally choked...then she looked at Santu who gave her a masoom nod..

KS(clearing her throat): Waise aur kis kis ko pata hai iss baare mei??
SS: Zyada kisi ko nahi bas Mereko, Cheete ko aur Billu ji ko..
KS(with a genuine smile): Matlab sabko pata hai siwaye Amma ke..
SS: Nahi..MS ko bhi nahi pata hai..
KS became a bit uneasy on the mention of Haseena...
SS: Waise shayad Rajveer sir ko bhi pata hai...

Something immediately struck KS's mind..
KS:Dhanyawaad "The Santosh Sharma" aapne toh humko bacha hi liya Amma ke bhaukaal se aur aaj ke liye bhi..aur jao ab so jao raat bohot ho gayi hai..
SS just nods and leaves...
KS grits her teeth and Tightens her fist in the railing of the balcony," You were right Santu, Rajveer ko bhi toh sab pata hai"..

Next Day At MPT everyone was busy with their work KS enters thana and everyone exchanges their Salutations...
KS: Jai Hind Everyone..SS any new case??
SS: No KM..
KS: Ok everyone get back to work..
Everyone starts moving when PS sees a new Watch in KS's hand..
PS: Kyaa...ye apne fir nayi ghadi le li...
Everyone looks at the new wrist watch that KS was wearing..
KS: Haan toh..
PS:Apki Pichli wali ghadi kaha gayi??
KS(looking at RJ): Acchi nahi lag rahi thi toh fek di
PS: Fek di matlab??
KS(a bit angrily): Fek di matlab fek di, aur aap bhuliye mat ye thana hai, jaiye aur jakar apna kaam kariye, ye baate Ghar pe discuss ho sakti hain..
Just then HM enters thana," Kya baate Ghar pe discuss ho sakti hain??"

All In Unison: Jai Hind MS..
HM: Jai Hind...kya baate Ghar pe discuss ho sakti hain KS..
KS looked at HM and all she could remember was the betrayal,she was hell angry at both HM& RJ, KS looked directly into HM's eyes ," Kuch Nahi MS, Ghar ki baate hain hum Ghar pe discuss kar lenge"
PS: Arey aise kaise...Ye dekhiye MS inhone fir nayi ghadi le li..
HM looked at KS's wrist and saw a new watch..
KS(angrily): Pushpa Ji...ye thana hai apka Ghar nahi, sarkaar kaam karne ke paise deti hai bakaiti ke nahi, aur agar bakaiti karni ho toh VRS lekar ghar pe baithiye..

Everyone flinched at KS's sudden outburst..

HM: KS shant ho jaiye..aur kal aap aayi kyu nahi thi, aur nahi aana tha toh Kam se kam koi message ya call toh kar deti..

KS came face to face with HM," Kyu MS apko toh pata hona chahiye hum kaha the..Heina Rajveer.."
At that moment HM realised that KS has discovered the truth , she just closed her eyes in guilt and disappointment..

KS (turns towards RJ and sarcastically says): Jawab Dijiye ASI Rajveer Tomar, Apne MS ko humare whereabouts ki information nahi di...

RJ just lowered his head because he was also well aware of where all this was coming from..
KS(but sternly): Jawab Dijiye ASI Tomar, apka toh kaam hai na apne senior ke baare mei information rakhna, aakhir ASI hain aap..
HM tries to control the situation," Leave It KS, it's not necessary"
KS: Oh no, no,no,no its absolutely necessary MS(giving more emphasis on MS) ASI Rajveer Tomar has failed to complete his duty..Am I right Mr.Tomar..
RJ(still looking down): Yes Madam..
KS: Ka ...Awaaj nahi aa raha...speak a bit louder..
RJ: Yes Maddam..
KS: Good...ab galti ki hai toh saza toh milegi, ASI Rajveer Tomar aaj se 7 din tak aap bina kisi break ke din mei Hazratganj Chaurahe pe traffic duty karenge aur Raat Ko thaane mei night duty karenge...Am I Clear..
RJ: Yes Maddam..
KS: Good..
PS (interrupts): Ye aap kya kar rahi hain..
KS(Sternly): Humne apse pucha nahi hai Pushpa Ji, aur ek baar hum fir apko yaad dila dein ki yaha hum senior hain aur agar apko zyada takleef ho raha ho toh aap Rajveer ki jagah uski duty kar sakti hain..hume koi aitraaz nahi hai..
PS: Theek hai, hum karenge uske jagah duty..
RJ(immediately interrupts): Uski koi zarurat nahi hai Pushpa Ji, humse galti Hui hai hum kar lenge duty...
RJ comes near KS, he was super guilty for what he did," I am Sorry KM, ho sake toh hume maaf kar dijiyega"
KS: Dismiss.

Saying this RJ leaves for his traffic duty with a heavy heart..
HM: KS cabin mei aaiye, hume aapse kuch baat karni hai..
KS: MS hume DSP sir ke office Jana hai immediately, Jai Hind..
And without even waiting for HM's reply KS leaves on her bike...
HM just helplessly looks at KS's retreating figure..
