Bianca was sipping a beer in the backyard of her apartment, wrapped into her black jacket. She had received four other messages from the same number as the last time, and all of them said the same thing: that Willam would do anything to have her.
However, she would rather die than be forced to date that animal.
Lorenzo was keeping her company since he was the only one Bianca had told the truth. "Bia, what are you going to do?" He asked as he admired the sky at night.
"I don't know it yet," she reflected, searching with her eyes for the Aries constellation to feel closer to Emma. "But I can't just wait for him to come and get me."
"I know you don't want to make others worry about you, but why don't you tell Emma? I'm sure she would help you." Lorenzo pointed out, turning his gaze back on his little cousin. "Besides, you got mad at her because she had kept a secret from you, but now you are doing the same thing.
Bianca shot him a glare. "Lore, if I had wanted to be scolded, I would have gone to Florence," she replied, pissed off. "I'm not going to tell this anyone. I will handle this situation on my own, and I will finally put an end to it. Plus, I can't afford to tell this Emma or she would do anything to protect me, and she would get herself in trouble."
He lifted his arms up in surrendering. "Okay, as you wish. But promise me you won't do anything stupid."
"I promise," Bianca said, but she wasn't so sure about that.
"Bia," Lorenzo softly called for her, "I'm serious. I can't lose my little cousin, and I can not imagine what Emma would do if she lost you."
Bianca had a flash in her mind of Emma crying kneeled before her grave. She abruptly shook her head to delete that thought. It was never gonna happen. She would do anything not to let it happen. She only had to hope it would be enough.
"I know, Lore, but I don't really have another choice."
"There is always a choice, Bia," Lorenzo corrected her.
He was right. There was always a choice, but she didn't want to make hers. When she found in the sky the Aries constellation, a memory came to her mind.
End of June 2003
Bianca today had one of her last lessons with Emma before the end of the school, but she wasn't really looking forward to it. Her feelings for the actress just grew more and more in the last two months when she only saw her rarely. What made her feel awful was knowing that Emma saw her just as a friend, which didn't surprise her, but it shattered her little heart the same.
She took a deep breath before entering the library, holding her books tight, almost using them as a shield.
When she spotted the older girl at their usual place, all the air she had in her lungs left, leaving her breathless. Emma was effortlessly stunning. She was wearing a white shirt with the sleeves curled up on her arms, leaving them bare. But what had a chokehold on Bianca was the actress' bun, from which a few rebel strands of hair fell down, caressing her face. She was focused on a page of her book, but perhaps she was having trouble with it since she bit her bottom lip, turning the pencil between her fingers. She used to do that when she wasn't understanding something.
She was everyone's dream. Anyone would want to be so lucky to be with her, but unfortunately, Bianca was already aware of the fact that she wasn't.
"Hi!" Bianca greeted Emma when she finally found the courage to move her legs and reach the older girl.
The young actress lifted her head immediately when she heard Bianca's voice, smiling softly at her. "Hi darling." She tapped on the wooden bench next to her. "Come here so we can begin to study."
