Wren's mind filled with different scenes and pictures. Like memories, but she didn't feel like she had lived them. She remembered a glade, a maze, but not observing it like she normally remembered, being in the maze. It wasn't entirely clear in her head, but she remembered some of it.

Wren woke up from laying beside Newt. It was still dark out, but she wasn't sure what time exactly. Newt has his arms around her and his head resting on her head. She pulled out the pearls she had found previously as he stirred slightly and opened his eyes, looking at her.

"What's that?" He whispered

"I found two pearls when looking for supplies." She whispered back, holding one up for him.

He took ahold of it and turned it over in his palm as he kissed the hand that previously held the pearl. Newt put the pearl in the pocket of his coat before kissing her head and trying to go back to sleep.

Wren woke up again from the sound of Thomas shooing away a crow. The sun beamed down into the building, but the rubble help shield them.

"Did I wake you?" Thomas glanced over at her after the crow flew away.

"It's fine, Tommy." Wren replied as others began to wake up as well.

Thomas nodded and stood up to look around.

"Are they gone?" Newt asked Thomas, now awake as well.

"Yeah, I think we're safe for now." Thomas nodded, "Okay. We should get moving." He knelt down and grabbed his things.

Wren used the rubble to help herself stand up and lean to the left to take away the pain. Frypan helped Winston, who had black and purple specks of blood on the bandages, up.

"Let's go." Wren climbed up the rubble, followed by everyone else doing the same.

They all looked around to see that they were in an abandoned city.

"What the hell happened to this place?" Frypan asked no one in particular

"I don't know." Newt mumbled, taking hold of Wren's hand as she limped beside him. "It doesn't look like anyone's been here in a long time."

"It's one of the abandoned cities. People evacuated because of the flare, most dying and some running." Wren mumbled

"Whoa, whoa, hang on, stop." Thomas stopped in his tracks, and everyone turned to look at him. "Do you hear that?" He asked

Wren closed her eyes and began to listen, hearing the whirring of an aircraft. "I hear it. Hide!"

"Get down!" Thomas ran with the others to some rubble to hide underneath.

The aircraft flew overhead and everyone stayed crouched down to not be spotted. Wren looked at everyone else, Teresa's expression seeming more unusual than everyone else's.

"They're never gonna stop looking for us, are they?" Minho asked

"Nope." Wren managed to climb out from under the rubble, brushing the dust off her cargo jeans. Everyone followed her out and they continued to walk.

"Everyone good?" Thomas coughed, climbing up some other rubble.

"Yeah." Winston replied weakly and Wren helped him up.

They soon arrived at the edge of the city, now climbing up a sand hill.

"A little further, guys." Thomas told them, reaching the top of the sand hill. He then pointed at some mountains in the distance. "Those mountains, that's gotta be it. That's where we're going."
