Quiet Moment

Look now down at the descending steps
The top on which you're perched
Shift to one side and take some scrapes
Or balance on the line
There's no wrong answer, just choose as your moment requires
Rest now your head on the hand rail
Close your eyes and hold
Shower yourself with reminders
That happiness may still enter your soul
In spots like this, keep quiet
Listen to the conference taking place
Between leaves who cannot touch their loved ones
Until wind pushes them to close space
Reflect now on the chaos
That proceeds with or without your approval
You can do little to stop it
So now sit and deposit
A moment of observance for the place where you are
Before your impending removal
