Tapas' p.o.v

The plan was simple. Stay near the target for keeping an eye on them. And since I was neither the victim nor the perpetrator, I was required to keep an eye on both the parties. And for doing that, I might have to extend my stay in Tulsipur until the perpetrators stop whatever they are panning to do. There's no doubt on where I'll be staying. But it is a problem when I'd have to relocate Maa along with me. My initial plan was to make her stay in Mahila Ghar temporarily but Hira feared she might escape and go back to the devil's den. She was still into her patnidharm bullshit. So we decided to keep her close to us. And now, we stand in front of Trilochan Uncle's room to convince him and take his permission.

"Kaka ko manaana itna asaan nahi hoga par agar hum Genghis ka naam lenge toh ho sakta hai woh maan jaye" Batuk thought out loud.

"Kuch hi dinon keliye hai... Mein poori koshish karungi unhe manaane ki" Hira's voice seemed nervous. She continued when Batuk placed a consoling hand on her shoulder "Kuch bhi hojaye mein Maa ko wapas uss narag mein jane nahi dungi... Bas ek maheene ki baat hai. Uske baad toh hum chale jayenge London"

I noticed Batuk freezing on the spot for a second but the idiot did or said nothing after. I guess he's not yet disclosed his feelings for her. After all, he was similar to his big brother in this matter. I seriously doesn't know what's it with the Roy Chowdhary men and confessions... except Binoy uncle and Som, of course. I still remember the three of us smirking hearing Laya's giggle from their room on our way here. I made a mental note to give a second threat to Batuk to make him get to work on his confession before knocking on the door.

"Arre kaun hai yeh itni raat ko? Hey Dugga Maa chain se sone bhi nahi dete koyi iss ghar mein! Sab ke sab mere dimag khane par tule hai" we heard him grunting before opening the door.

"Tum log?! Itni raat ko kahan bhukamb hogaye ki tum teenon toh samay ka maan bhi rakhne ka nahi socha?" he shouted.

"Wah Kaka! Humara toh neend udd gaye hai par apko apni neend ki padi hai" Batuk muttered.

"Kya- Kya- Kya bola tumne?" Kaka scowled and leaned to Batuk's side.

"Kuch nahi" Batuk replied feigning a smile.

"Kaka Sasur Ji maaf kijiye par baat kuch mahatvapoorn hai toh humne abhi pooch lena zaroori samjha" Hira intervened, which worked because uncle showed us in and sat on his bed.

"Ab bolo aisa kya baat hai jo subah tak intzar nahi kar sakta tha"

I looked at Hira who looked at Batuk who in turn eyed us both and propelled to tell him. This went on for a minute before uncle yelled.

"Mazak samajhkar rakha hai tum log! Kya hum ulloo hai? Humari neend ki thodi bhi parva hai toh Durga Maa keliye batao humein ki baat kya hai!"

"Woh meri Maa" Hira yelped but stopped herself.

"Tumhari Maa ka kya?" Uncle frowned.

"Meri Maa... woh..." she gulped.

"Apko pata hai na Maa abhi mere ghar mein hai? Culcutta mein" I took the brunt. He nodded darkly.

"Uncle baat yeh hai ki mujhe kuch dinon keliye Tulsipur rahna hoga. Mein toh har baar yahan hi rahta hoon, hai na?"

"Haan toh?" Uncle raised a single eyebrow.

"Toh humne socha kyun na Saasu Maa ko bhi yahan rehne ka prabandh karein?" Batuk took up from there "Matlab, Tapas dada yahan hi hai aur isi bahane Rudhi ko bhi apni Maa ke sath rehne ka mauka mil jayegi toh-"

"Kabhi nahi!" Uncle growled.

We three flinched. Batuk muttering a "Satyanash" under his breath.

"Uncle agar apko iss se-" I was about to reply but he interjected me.
