As the golden hues of the setting sun painted the sky in a breathtaking display of colors, Mon and Sam sat together on the shore, the warm sand beneath their feet offering a small measure of comfort. Despite the pain that wracked Sam's weakened body, she couldn't help but smile as she remembered the significance of the moment.

"This is where you proposed to me, isn't it?" Sam whispered weakly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mon nodded, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears as she gazed at her wife. "Yes, it is," she replied softly, her heart heavy with emotion.

Sam leaned against Mon, her head resting on her wife's shoulder as they watched the sun dip below the horizon. Memories of that day flooded Sam's mind, the love and warmth of Mon's proposal filling her heart with a bittersweet ache.

"I remember it like it was yesterday," Sam murmured, her voice filled with longing. "It was the happiest moment of my life."

Mon wrapped her arms around Sam, holding her close as they shared a silent embrace. The weight of their impending loss hung heavy in the air, but in that moment, all that mattered was the love they shared, shining bright against the backdrop of the fading light.

With each breath, Sam's words hung heavy in the air, each one a testament to the depth of her gratitude and love. Weak and fragile, she struggled to find the strength to speak, but her voice, though faint, carried a weight that resonated deep within Mon's heart.

"Thank you, Mon," Sam whispered, her voice barely more than a whisper, each word a struggle to utter. "For everything."

Mon's heart clenched at Sam's words, a lump forming in her throat as tears pricked at the corners of her eyes. She reached out, gently grasping Sam's hand in hers, offering what little comfort she could.

"You don't have to thank me, Sam," Mon replied softly, her voice thick with emotion. "I would do anything for you."

Sam managed a weak smile, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears as she squeezed Mon's hand gently. "I know," she murmured, her voice barely audible above the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. "And I'm so grateful for you."

As Sam's tear-filled eyes locked onto the familiar figure of Nop, her heart clenched with a mixture of fear and longing. She knew what his presence meant, and the weight of it bore down on her already weakened spirit.

"No..." Sam whispered, her voice trembling with emotion as tears streamed down her cheeks. "Please..."

Mon's confusion deepened as she watched Sam's reaction, her heart aching with empathy for her wife's pain. She reached out, gently wiping away Sam's tears as she searched Sam's eyes for answers.

"Sam, who are you talking to?" Mon asked softly, her voice tinged with concern.

But Sam could only shake her head, her voice catching in her throat as she struggled to form the words. All she could do was cling to Mon, her body trembling with the weight of her emotions, as Nop's silent presence hung heavy in the air.

As Sam's body convulsed with pain, each breath felt like a battle, her chest constricting with the agony that threatened to consume her. She clutched at her chest, her fingers digging into her skin as if trying to hold herself together.

"Sam!" Mon cried out, her voice filled with fear and desperation as she watched her wife's agony unfold before her eyes. She felt helpless, unable to ease Sam's suffering, her heart breaking with each gasp for air.

In a flurry of motion, Mon turned to Sam's nurse, her voice trembling with urgency. "Get her medication, now!" she commanded, her eyes pleading for swift action. "And call Grandmother. We need her here, now!"

As the nurse hurried to fulfill Mon's orders, the room filled with a palpable sense of tension, the air thick with the weight of Sam's suffering. And in that moment of helplessness, all Mon could do was hold Sam close, praying for relief from the relentless grip of pain.

As Sam's breaths grew labored, each one a struggle against the weight of her pain, she leaned heavily on Mon, her strength failing her. Her eyes, once filled with determination, now gazed blankly into the distance, a silent plea hanging in the air.

"Please..." Sam whispered, her voice barely more than a hoarse whisper, her words carried away by the wind.

Mon's heart clenched with fear as tears welled in her eyes, her hands trembling as she reached out to comfort her wife. "Who are you talking to, Sam?" she asked, her voice thick with emotion. "I can't see anyone."

But as Mon's words hung in the air, a presence materialized before them, unseen by all but Sam. Nop's spirit knelt beside her, his form faint and ethereal, a solemn expression on his face.

"I'm sorry, Sam," Nop murmured, his voice barely audible above the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. "I can't extend your time any longer."

With each wave of pain that wracked Sam's body, her muscles tensed involuntarily, her fingers digging into the sand as if seeking an anchor in the storm of agony. Mon's heart shattered at the sight of her beloved wife suffering, tears streaming down her cheeks as she held Sam close, offering whatever solace she could in the face of such relentless torment.

"Stay with me, Sam," Mon pleaded, her voice choked with emotion as she fought to remain strong for her wife. "I'm here, I won't leave you."

As Sam's struggles intensified, each gasp for air a battle against the crushing weight of her pain, she turned to Mon with tears streaming down her cheeks, her voice choked with sorrow.

"I'm sorry, Mon," Sam whispered, her words a fragile echo in the stillness of the room. "I can't... I can't stay anymore."

Mon's heart shattered at Sam's words, her own tears flowing unchecked down her cheeks as she refused to accept the inevitable. She clung to Sam desperately, her arms wrapped tightly around her wife, as if by sheer will alone she could keep her from slipping away.

"No, Sam, please," Mon pleaded, her voice breaking with emotion. "The nurse will be back soon. You have to stay with me. Please, don't leave me."

But even as she spoke the words, Mon knew deep down that their time together was drawing to a close. And as Sam's breaths grew shallower, her body growing weaker in Mon's embrace, all they could do was hold onto each other, their love a bittersweet reminder of the precious moments they had shared.

As Sam weakly reached for Mon's face, her touch gentle yet filled with a sense of finality, she whispered her last "I love you" with all the strength she could muster. Pulling Mon's face towards hers, she pressed her lips to Mon's in a tender farewell, a last act of love before her strength waned.

As their lips met, Sam's hands slipped from Mon's face, falling limply to her side. Mon's heart shattered in that moment of realization, her sobs echoing against the backdrop of the crashing waves as she clung to Sam's lifeless form, unwilling to accept the truth.

"No, Sam, please," Mon pleaded, her voice breaking as she shook Sam's lifeless form, desperate for any sign of life. But there was nothing, only the cold emptiness of death.

Desperate to wake her beloved wife from this cruel slumber, Mon gazed into Sam's still face, willing her to stir, to open her eyes and return to her. But as the reality of Sam's passing settled over her like a heavy fog, Mon's cries of anguish pierced the air, a heartrending lament for the love she had lost.

Carrying Sam's lifeless body to the shore, Mon's tears flowed freely as she cradled her in her arms, her sobs echoing in the silence of the beach. Their friends and loved ones, drawn by the sound of her cries, rushed to her side, but were held back by the sight of Mon's grief-stricken form, a solitary figure mourning the loss of her beloved Sam.
