[Third Person POV]

It has been years since the last attack in New York, forever since [Y/N] and Loki had met. She last heard that he had lost his life trying to save his brother from Thanos. However, since the last time he lied about his death, [Y/N] did not know what to feel about the information she heard. All she wanted was to not think or feel about him and his existence. It took a long time for [Y/N] to get over Loki. She had done every single thing to wipe him out of her thoughts and now she is finally getting over her past.

Today is not like any other. [Y/N] woke up and got ready for the day. The little actions that she does to try to forget Loki matters and that includes basking in the morning sun for a while before she gets up from her bed- which she now stops doing. Once [Y/N] is ready, she grabs a stack of books and walks through the Stark hallway to the dining room.

"Beep beep! Morning!" a bright young voice came along with 2 little pokes on [Y/N]'s thigh. [Y/N] looks down to see little sweetheart Morgan (Tony's daughter).

Before [Y/N] was able to respond, Morgan dashed off to follow the smell of honey toasts that left a trail. [Y/N] smiled and held her books to her chest and continued to walk but noticed someone was beside her- it was Tony.

"Erherm.." Tony cleared his throat and looked at what [Y/N] was holding. [Y/N]'s smile drops a little as she takes in a deep breath. It was just like as if next to her was her annoying older brother.

"Self-help books again today?" Tony questioned.

[Y/N] was situated in Stark's building to help in researching ways they can optimise the health of the Avengers but after all the losses they had experienced lately, everyone took their time to get better, especially in their mental health. Though it seemed like everyone had moved on, [Y/N] was still trying to cope since she did not know what to do. She does very well in advising others but seems lost when she faces such difficulties herself.

"Seems like today is a bring-your-child-to-work day?" [Y/N] responded with her gaze still stuck to the front.

"Gimme that." Tony grabbed the stack of books from [Y/N] and walked ahead of her.

As she walked into the kitchen, she could see Strange at the stove cooking up more toast. [Y/N] walks next to him to make herself a glass of Americano.

"Morning, sit down I'll be making your favourite pancakes after this." Strange said as he waved around the spatula in his hand.

"You better get your breakfast young lady." before [Y/N] can respond to Strange, Tony cuts in as he gets Morgan ready for her meal.

[Y/N] turns around unsure if that statement was for her or Morgan. [Y/N] knows everyone is worried about her not eating well but she believes knows what's best for her and promises she will be better soon.

"It's alright, I'll get my meal later." [Y/N] responded as she grabbed the glass of coffee and walked away, looking to the reading table and feeling assured that Tony had put her books there for later.

Right as she was at the door with her glass of hot coffee, Tony stood right in front of her. He frowned and tilted his head signalling to [Y/N] to get to the table. [Y/N] took a deep breath and smiled. She shook her head and tapped Tony's chest as she walked out of the room- she knew Tony could not win her over since he did not want her to be forced to do anything. Great dad, literally fathering everyone here. [Y/N] proceeded to head to the library first to wander off a bit before heading to her room.

AT THE LIBRARY

[Y/N] walks in, closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. The smell of books and wood with an odd tinge of oud scent made her happy. She opens her eyes to see the glorious library that was designed just like the one Loki had brought her to on Asgard. Sounds of movement could be heard from where a slight shadow of a man was. Around this time, the librarian would tidy the library. [Y/N] walks slowly with her eyes glazing through the titles of the books neatly organised on the shelves. She turns around to see a stack of books on the table. Curious, she walks towards it. Oddly enough, there was suddenly no sign of anyone in the library. [Y/N] did not think much and looked away from the stack of books. Suddenly something clicked in her mind. One of the books in the stack seemed familiar. She walks back towards the book and reaches out to it with her right hand, coffee still on the left. Right as her finger is about to touch the book, a wave of cold air wooshes in front of her and a man leaps out of a portal. Struggling to find his footing, he fell right onto the table with his arm around [Y/N]'s body. [Y/N] turned to her right to see the man but his face was right behind her shoulder.

That familiar scent, that heartbeat.

Time felt like it paused for a moment.

Loki.

Not believing what was happening and annoyed that some man was all over her, [Y/N] pushed the man away. Her eyes first looked to the ground and they slowly trailed upwards to see an odd brownish-grey suit- just like a prisoner's. [Y/N] took a step backwards and tilted her head upwards. It was him. Confused, she let her eyes wander around his body to figure out if he was there. The man in question tried to hide himself and even tried to open another portal to escape but he could not.

"[Y/N].." he said with a deep voice as he looked towards [Y/N] with tears in his eyes.

At the sound of his voice, [Y/N] dropped the glass of hot coffee. Shards of glass cut through her skin with the coffee scalding her leg. She could not believe what was in front of her. All her efforts to forget him went in vain. She was speechless. A part of her wants him to be real but another wants him to be gone, forever.
