Chapter 34

Luke's POV

After telling everyone what Julie told me, I have to convince them that we have to bring Willie. He's the only one who's from there, and he knows the castle better than any of us. If he shows us the way, he could bring us to Julie. He could bring me to Julie.

Mitch: Absolutely NOT!

Luke: But Willie knows Elorerin better than anyone. He could help us through the tunnels.

Alex: But he betrayed us. What happens when he stabs us in the back again when we go into those tunnels.

Flynn: Alex is right, Luke. He's too much of a liability.

Luke: But we need him. He could help us get Julie back.

Reggie: Even if he did help us get Julie back, how are we supposed to trust him after everything he put us through.

Luke: We'll take turns watching him. Make sure he doesn't go out of line.

Mitch: I don't know, Luke. It's risky, even for you.

Luke: I know you guys don't trust Willie. But let's not forget that he helped save my life. And if he wanted to stab us in the back more, why didn't he go off with Caleb when he got the chance. I think he's just misunderstood. You don't have to trust him, fine, but trust me. It's the only way to get Julie back.

Everyone just stood there in silence. I hoped that what I said could make them understand the situation we are in. Everyone just shared a look and looked back to me.

Mitch: Alright, we'll do it.

Luke: Alright, I'll let him out.

Alex: I'll come with you, Luke.

Luke: Are you sure, Alex? I know how close you guys were.

Alex: Yeah, I'm sure.

Luke: Okay, let's go.

Once we left, I had Alex show me where Willie was in. I feel bad for Alex. During our trip, he was really close to Willie, and seeing him betray us hurt Alex deeply. I would see them talking and laughing at jokes. It was like they had this bond that couldn't be broken. I just hope that after everything, he can find a way to forgive him.

We arrived in front of the door to where Willie was staying. I asked Alex to give me the keys to the room, but before he could give them to me, he just looked at me with a nervous look.

Alex: Are you sure about this, Luke?

Luke: What other choice do we have, Alex? It's the only way to save Julie.

Alex: Okay, let's go it.

He unlocked the door, walked in, and saw Willie lying down on the bed, looking very guilty. But when he looked up to us, he was shocked. Probably because I was alive.

Willie: Hey guys.

Luke: Hey Willie, we need to talk to you.

Willie: Sure, anything you need.

Luke: Okay, first of all, I just want to say thank you.

Willie: For what?

Luke: My dad told me what you did, you donating your blood to save me. I really appreciate that, and I'm sorry for treating you like crap.

Willie: It's okay. You were just following your instincts, which were right. And I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to you.

Alex: We really appreciate it.

Willie: Alex, I...

Alex: Save it.

Willie: ...

Luke: Anyway, we need your help.

Willie: How?

Luke: Julie contacted me through this bracelet, and she told me that there are some tunnels hidden in the castle. And since you're from Elorerin, you probably know where the tunnels are. We want you to help us find Julie.

Willie: I'll do it.

Luke: And please don't sa-. Wait, did you say you'll do it?

Willie: Yeah, I'll do it. It was my fault in the first place, and I wanted to make it right. Besides, I'm done with Caleb's crap.

Alex: Thanks, but if you stabbed us in the back again, I'll make sure you'll go to the nearest cell I could find. Even if it's in enemy territory.

Willie: Point taken.

Luke: Alright, let's make a plan.

Julie's POV

When I told Luke about the tunnels, I was relieved that we finally figured out a way to stop Caleb. I can finally leave this horrible place and go back home. Go back to Luke.

Since I know about the tunnels, I knew that the only person who could help Luke and the gang was Willie. But I know it won't be easy after the betrayal. I can understand why Willie did it, though. He was following orders, and Caleb was like a father to him.

But Willie deserved a better father than Caleb. He shouldn't be a part of Caleb's dirty work.

I suddenly heard the door being open, and in comes Caleb. I sat on my bed, looking at him with a look of horror. I don't know what he is going to do with me next, but I really don't want to find out.

Caleb: Hello, Julianna.

Julie: What do you want, Caleb?

Caleb: I just want to talk. That's all.

Then he had the nerve to come over to me and sat very close. I scooted over to make distance, and luckily, he understood.

Caleb: I have some news.

Julie: You're going to let me leave?

Caleb: No, that's out of the question. It's about your Kingdom. They heard about your "kidnapping," and your father is going to try to get you back.

Julie: Good, because Valdronia has the most strongest army, even stronger than yours.

Caleb: Oh, I'm not too worried about that.

Julie: Why not?

Suddenly, he grabbed my wrist where my bracelet was.

Caleb: Because what your little boyfriend doesn't know is that I have guards waiting for them in the tunnels. And you are not going to say anything to them about it.

Julie: *scared* How did you k-

Caleb: I got spies everywhere, princess. I can't have you ruining my plans.

Julie: What is your plan exactly?

Caleb: Well, you came to Devontae to get married? You are going to finish that mission. By marrying me.

I wanted to scream. There was no way I was going to marry Caleb of all people. He is an enemy to the throne and a psychopath.

Julie: I will never marry you.

Caleb: Oh sweetie, you don't have a choice.
